In the ensuing frame, the Jens cut the lead in half thanks to catcher Taylor Thompson's RBI triple (scoring Jadyn Sheffield) and tied the game with a pinch-hit RBI from Carly Youngblood, but S&T would plate the winning run in the top of the eighth inning picking up their third victory on the year.

Central Missouri plated all three runs in the top of the second beginning with a Laney Killpack RBI single that scored Taylor Thompson and Carly Youngblood, followed by a Lexi Blackmon RBI single.

The Savage Storm answered with a lone run in the bottom of the second and third, as freshman Brooke Wiemer (2-0) allowed two runs (two earned) on six hits while striking out three in four innings of work while redshirt junior Paige Petefish earned the save in relief allowing just one hit and struck out a pair for good measure.
