Jennies Volleyball Falls to Missouri Western in St. Joe

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Central Missouri Jennies (9-13, 5-8 MIAA) fell to the Missouri Western Griffons (20-5, 10-3 MIAA) by a final score of 3-0 (18-25, 20-25, 23-25) on Friday, Nov. 8, from MWSU Fieldhouse in St. Joseph, Mo.     
 
After taking the opening two sets of the match, the Griffons picked up their 20th victory of the season with a 25-23 win in the third led by Nessa Johnson's double-double performance.
 
The Jens were paced offensively by senior Tiffany Little's match-high 13 kills while outside hitter Maya Fergerson had 11 kills and one block on the night. Redshirt junior Grace Winkelmann led the defensive efforts in the back row with a match-high 17 digs, plus defensive specialist Kirsten Harper collected 10 digs.
 
Setter Regan Willms contributed a match-high 36 assists adding five digs, a career-high two blocks, and two service aces while junior Rachel Ziesman had seven kills, two blocks, and two digs for good measure. Middle blocker Elinor Engel (five kills and two blocks) and freshman Brenna Kelly gathered seven digs each while middle blocker/right side Grace Wagers tallied a career-high .545 hitting percentage with six kills on 11 swings and senior Arley Anderson collected five digs.  
 
The Jens return to the court on Saturday, Nov. 9, as they take on the Northwest Missouri Bearcats (13-12, 7-6 MIAA), beginning at 3:00 p.m. from Bearcat Arena in Maryville, Mo.
