WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The Central Missouri Jennies (10-14, 6-9 MIAA) swept the Newman Jets (3-26, 0-15 MIAA) by a final score of 3-0 (25-13, 25-17, 25-19) on Friday, Nov. 15, during the annual Salute to Service Match from Dr. Peggy Martin Court inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center in Warrensburg.
The Jens took the opening set 25-13 on a 7-2 run highlighted by a pair of kills from senior
Tiffany Little (11 kills on 28 swings for a .357 hitting percentage, adding five digs, and three blocks) before doubling their advantage with a 25-17 win in the second.
Central Missouri completed the sweep in the third on a 7-3 run aided by middle blocker Elinor Engle's (13 kills on 21 attempts for a match-high .476 attack percentage with four blocks, and two digs) three kills, as the Jens earn their 10
th victory of the season.
Sophomore
Maya Fergerson led UCM offensively with a match-high 15 kills on 26 swings for a .423 hitting percentage while middle blocker
Rachel Ziesman had 7 kills on just 15 attempts for a .333 attack percentage and four blocks in the winning effort.
Libero
Grace Winkelmann (team-high 19 digs and three assists) and freshman
Brenna Kelly (10 digs) had a match-high three service aces each, while defensive specialist
Arley Anderson collected eight digs and senior
Regan Willms had a match-high 43 assists, six digs, and a career-high three kills for good measure.
The Jens return to the court on Saturday, Nov. 16, as they conclude the regular season hosting the Pittsburg State Gorillas (10-14, 5-9 MIAA) for Senior Night, HOA Club Night, and their annual Black Out Match beginning at 7:00 p.m. from Dr. Peggy Martin Court inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center in Warrensburg.
