Scene Setter
  • Central Missouri volleyball concludes the 2024 regular season with a pair of conference matchups against the Newman Jets on Friday, Nov. 15, at 6:00 p.m. for our annual Salute to Service Match before taking on the Pittsburg State Gorillas on Saturday, Nov. 16, at 7:00 p.m. for our Black Out Match, HOA Club Night, and Senior Night from Dr. Peggy Martin Court inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center in Warrensburg.       
  • During Salute to Service Night on Friday, the nationally acclaimed Central Missouri ROTC program will present our nation's colors during the national anthem prior to the match along with a special performance from the UCM drumline.
  • Saturday's match against the Gorillas will be our annual Black Out Match, where all Jennies fans are encouraged to wear their black Central Missouri attire while the first 100 fans will receive a free black t-shirt.
  • The Jens will celebrate four seniors including Arley Anderson, Tiffany Little, Justine Bichelmeyer, and Regan Willms for their contributions to the program during a ceremony after the conclusion of the match against PSU on Saturday night. 
  • The Jens fell to the Missouri Western Griffons on Friday, Nov. 8, inside MWSU Fieldhouse before suffering defeat to the Northwest Missouri Bearcats on Saturday, Nov. 9, from Bearcat Arena.       
  • Central Missouri announced the signing of 10-year-old Morgan Steeby during a NLI (National Letter of Intent) ceremony on Monday, Sept. 9, inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center in partnership with Team Impact.
 
How to Watch
  • Both matches will be available on a pay-per-view basis through the MIAA Network with coverage beginning at 6:00 p.m. Friday night and 7:00 p.m. on Saturday night from Dr. Peggy Martin Court inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center in Warrensburg.     
 
Meet the Jens  
Series History
  • Newman: Friday will be the 15th meeting between Central Missouri and the Jets dating back to the 1987 season as the Jens hold a perfect 14-0 record following a 3-0 (25-15, 25-13, 25-12) victory on Saturday, Oct. 12, from Fugate Gymnasium in Wichita, Kan. Outside hitter Maya Fergerson led UCM with a match-high 11 kills while setter Kayla Baer had a match-best 28 assists, five digs, and a career-high four blocks.      
  • Pittsburg State: This will be the 80th all-time meeting between the Jens and Pittsburg State heading into Saturday's match as Central Missouri has a 71-7-1 overall record including a mark of 32-3 in Warrensburg following last season's 3-0 (25-10, 25-18, 25-19) sweep of the Gorillas on Friday, Oct. 27, from Dr. Peggy Martin Court inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center.  
 
Jens By the Numbers
  • Central Missouri is averaging 16.3 digs, 13.4 kills, 12.5 assists, 2.1 blocks and 1.4 service aces per set through 23 matches this season. 
  • Middle blocker Elinor Engel's 334 points (fourth in the conference) and 280 kills (sixth in the MIAA) is the most by a Jen this season while her 74 total blocks are second-most. The Shawnee, Kan. native recorded her 500th career kill in the opening set of a 3-0 sweep of the Newman Jets (Oct. 12) and is one of two players to start all 23 matches this year. 
  • Junior Rachel Ziesman's 93 total blocks (fifth in the MIAA) and 1.07 blocks per set (fifth in the conference) paces UCM defensively in the front row while posting the third-most points (293.5) and kills (242) on the team. Ziesman had a career-best 20 kills against Pittsburg State (Oct. 11) and is one of two players to start all 23 matches for Central Missouri in 2024.
  • Libero Grace Winkelmann leads the Jens defensively in the back row with 446 digs (seventh best in the conference), averaging 5.07 digs pet set (seventh most in the MIAA), adding a UCM best 21 service aces on the year including a career-high five against Newman (Oct. 12). The Rhineland, Mo. native collected her 1,000th career dig in the 3-1 (25-22, 16-25, 25-23, 25-18) victory over Seattle Pacific in Denver, Colo while tallying double-digit digs in all 23 matches this year including a season-best 34 against Washburn (Oct. 19).  
  • Setter Kayla Baer leads UCM with 595 assists, averaging 11.02 assists per set (third-best in the MIAA) this season. The Wesley Chapel, Fla. native had a career-high 59 assists against Arkansas-Fort Smith (Oct. 4) while posting 30 or more assists in 12 matches.   
  • Sophomore Maya Fergerson paces the Jens averaging 3.45 kills per set (third in the MIAA) while having the second-most kills (276) and points (299.5) for UCM. The Independence, Mo. native has double-digit kills in 18 matches this season including two matches with 20 or more highlighted by a career-high 21 against Wheeling (Sept. 14).
  • Senior Tiffany Little's 169 digs rank third on the team adding 149 kills (fourth), 22 blocks, and 14 service aces (third). The Parker, Colo. native recorded her third double-double performance of the year in the 3-1 (25-18, 23-25, 25-22, 25-15) victory over the Arkansas-Fort Smith Lions (Nov. 2) with a career-high 18 digs and 12 kills for good measure.
  • Defensive Specialist Brenna Kelly has the second most digs for the Jens with 182 while averaging 2.22 digs per set (fourth most on the team) while posting the second-most service aces with 19. The Aurora, Colo. native has collected double-digit digs in seven matches this season highlighted by a season-best 20 against Drury (Sept. 20).
 
UCM in the Postseason
  • The Jens made their 37th NCAA Tournament appearance in program history last season and the first under 2023 MIAA Coach of the Year Caitlin Peterson as the Jens have a 41-41 overall record including eight NCAA Regional Championships.
