  • Central Missouri volleyball continues the 2024 season with a pair of conference matchups on the road beginning with No. 13 Central Oklahoma Bronchos on Friday, Nov. 1, at 6:00 p.m. from Hamilton Field House in Edmond, Okla. before taking on the Arkansas-Fort Smith Lions on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 1:00 p.m. from the Stubblefield Center in Fort Smith, Ark.      
  • The Jens defeated Missouri Southern by a final score of 3-1 (17-25, 25-23, 25-19, 25-19) led by sophomore Maya Fergerson's team-high 17 kills on 34 swings for a .382 hitting percentage while adding a career-best four blocks outhitting the Lions by a margin of .262 to .228 as libero Grace Winkelmann collected a match-high 21 digs on Friday, Oct. 25, during Homecoming weekend from Dr. Peggy Martin Court inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center in Warrensburg.     
  • Central Missouri announced the signing of 10-year-old Morgan Steeby during a NLI (National Letter of Intent) ceremony on Monday, Sept. 9, inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center in partnership with Team Impact.

  • Both matches will be available on a pay-per-view basis through the MIAA Network with coverage beginning at 6:00 p.m. Friday night in Edmond, Okla. and 1:00 p.m. on Saturday in Fort Smith, Ark.    
 
Meet the Jens  
Series History
  • No 13 Central Oklahoma: Friday will be the 28th meeting between the Jens and Central Oklahoma dating back to the 1992 season. UCM is 7-4 in Edmond following last season's 3-2 (17-25, 25-17, 25-22, 15-25, 22-20) victory led by setter Olivia Olson's double-double performance (52 assists and 10 digs) while freshman Elinor Engel paced the Jens offensively with 16 kills on 26 swings (.538 hitting percentage) adding four blocks for good measure.    
  • Arkansas-Fort Smith: This will be the fourth all-time meeting between UCM and the Lions heading into Saturday afternoon, as the Jens have a 2-1 overall record following a 3-1 (14-25, 25-27, 32-30, 30-32) defeat on Friday, Oct. 4, from Dr. Peggy Martin Court inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center in Warrensburg.
 
Jens By the Numbers
  • Central Missouri is averaging 16.0 digs, 13.5 kills, 12.6 assists, 2.1 blocks and 1.4 service aces per set through 19 matches this season. 
  • Middle blocker Elinor Engel's 296.5 points (third in the conference) and 250 kills (fourth in the MIAA) is the most by a Jen this season while her 64 total blocks are second-most. The Shawnee, Kan. native recorded her 500th career kill in the opening set of a 3-0 sweep of the Newman Jets (Oct. 12) and is one of two players to start all 19 matches this year. 
  • Junior Rachel Ziesman's 80 total blocks (sixth in the MIAA) and 1.08 blocks per set (sixth in the conference) paces UCM defensively in the front row while posting the third-most points (247.5) and kills (204) on the team. Ziesman had a career-best 20 kills against Pittsburg State (Oct. 11) and is one of two players to start all 19 matches for Central Missouri in 2024.
  • Libero Grace Winkelmann leads the Jens defensively in the back row with 374 digs (sixth best in the conference), averaging 4.99 digs pet set (seventh most in the MIAA), adding a UCM best 21 service aces on the year including a career-high five against Newman (Oct. 12). The Rhineland, Mo. native collected her 1,000th career dig in the 3-1 (25-22, 16-25, 25-23, 25-18) victory over Seattle Pacific in Denver, Colo while tallying double-digit digs in all 19 matches this year including a season-best 34 against Washburn (Oct. 19).  
  • Setter Kayla Baer leads UCM with 588 assists, averaging 11.09 assists per set (third-best in the MIAA) so far this season. The Wesley Chapel, Fla. native had a career-high 59 assists against Arkansas-Fort Smith (Oct. 4) while posting 30 or more assists in 13 matches.   
  • Sophomore Maya Fergerson paces the team averaging 3.52 kills per set (fourth in the MIAA) while having the second-most kills (236) and points (255) for UCM. The Independence, Mo. native has double-digit kills in 16 matches this season including two matches with 20 or more highlighted by a career-high 21 against Wheeling (Sept. 14).
  • Senior Tiffany Little's 143 digs rank third on the team adding 118 kills (fourth), 18 blocks, and 11 service aces (third). The Parker, Colo. native recorded her second double-double performance of the year against the Emporia State Hornets (Oct. 18) with 13 kills and 16 digs for good measure.
 
UCM in the Postseason
  • The Jens made their 37th NCAA Tournament appearance in program history last season and the first under 2023 MIAA Coach of the Year Caitlin Peterson as the Jens have a 41-41 overall record including eight NCAA Regional Championships.
