BOLIVAR, Mo. – The Central Missouri cross country teams competed in the SBU Invitational on Friday, Sept. 1, hosted by Southwest Baptist University at the Bolivar Golf Course in Bolivar, Mo.
The Mules finished in second place as a team with a total time of 1:40:32.16 scoring 63 points in the meet highlighted by three top-10 finishes including individual champion
Brian Mitei who crossed the finish line in 19:31.97.
Junior
Bryan O'Barr finished in fifth place with a time of 19:32.11 and Warrensburg, Mo. native
Cooper Palmer ran the meet in 20:02.63 finishing in 10
th place overall. Juniors
Brady Maher (24
th place finish, with a time of 20:36.47) and
Luke Engel (25th place finish, with a time of 20:37.98) rounded out the scoring for the Mules.
On the women's side, the Jennies finished in seventh place with a time of 1:45:10.96 scoring 150 points, just four points shy of sixth place Missouri Southern. Graduate Senior
Katie Bean placed 10
th in the meet with a time of 19:14.66, while
McKenzie Bergman crossed the finish line in 19:18.94 placing 14th and
Chloee Belgum scored 15 points finishing in 19:23.21 placing 16th.
Freshman
Emily Keck placed 65
th scoring 50 points with a time of 22:37.98 and rounding out the scoring for the Jens was junior
Korry Davis who placed 84
th overall completing the race in 24:36.17.
The Mules and Jennies next meet is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 16, as they head to Lincoln, Neb. For the Greeno / Dirksen Invite beginning at 10:00 a.m. from Mahoney Golf Course.
