Mules Baseball Remains No. 1 in NCAA-II Central Regional Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS -- Fourth-ranked Central Missouri Mules baseball is ranked number one in the second NCAA Division II Central Region rankings release by the NCAA on Wednesday, May 10.

UCM is one of three MIAA baseball programs in the rankings as Missouri Southern is number two and Pittsburg State is number seven.

The other two conference that make up the Central Region, the Great American Conference (GAC) and Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) comprise the other seven spots in the 10-team rankings.

Southern Arkansas (GAC) and Ouachita Baptist (GAC) are ranked third and fourth, while Arkansas Tech (GAC) is fifth followed by Augustana (NSIC), Pittsburg State (MIAA), Minnesota State (NSIC), Henderson State (GAC) and Arkansas-Monticello (GAC).

The top eight teams from the MIAA, Northern Sun and Great American Conferences in the final regional rankings released during the NCAA-II Baseball Championship Selection Show on NCAA.com May 14 advance to play in the NCAA-II Central Region Tournament May 18-20.

The top-two seeds in the final rankings each host a sub-regional followed by a best two-of-three super regional to determine the regional champion.

The Mules are scheduled to face Pittsburg State in a MIAA Baseball Championship semifinal contest Thursday, May 11, at noon at Crane Stadium/Tompkins Field in Warrensburg.
