WARRENSBURG, Mo. – In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the 1983 Mules Football MIAA Championship, UCM Athletics and the UCM Alumni Foundation will host a reunion on the weekend of Sept. 16, 2023, when Central Missouri hosts Pittsburg State at Walton Stadium/Kennedy Field.

The 1983 Mules won the conference championship behind the strength of 18 All-MIAA selections including seven first-team recognitions. The Mules opened the year with a 34-9 win over Southern Colorado in the first of six non-conference games. The team ultimately went 4-1 in conference play that season including a 52-22 win over Southeast Missouri State to cap the year and claim the conference title. The 1983 season marked Central Missouri's first conference championship since 1970 and launched the program to three more conference titles in the 1980s.

All members of the 1983 Mules Football team are invited back for the weekend festivities which will include a social on Friday night (Sept. 15th), a pregame tailgate, and postgame gathering. Team members will be recognized during the Mules' game.

To commemorate the 1983 season, conference championship rings have been made available to order for members of the team. Championship rings will be purchased directly by team alumni from Legend Rings. The deadline for the ring order is May 26, 2023.
