TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – John Prudhom homered twice and had three RBI but it wasn't enough, as the Central Missouri Mules baseball team fell at Northeastern State, 11-10, in game two of a three-game MIAA series Sunday, March 5, at Rousey Field.
The Mules (11-6, 4-1 MIAA) and RiverHawks (9-7, 3-2 MIAA) are slated to wrap up the series with a 1 p.m. contest Monday, March 6, in Tahlequah.
Prudhom went 2-for-5 on the day with his sixth and seventh home runs of the season to go along with his three runs driven in while
Carter Young homered for the second time in two games and the fourth time in 2023, and
Cole Moore went 2-for-4 with a triple, leading Central Missouri at the plate.
Brock Toney (2-1) suffered the loss on the mound for UCM, allowing six runs – five earned – on seven hits with four strikeouts and no walks in 3 1/3 innings.
Matt Kaiser went 2-for-5 with two home runs and five RBI, leading the RiverHawks offensively.
Lee Callison (3-1) earned the win on the rubber for NSU after giving up five earned runs on six hits with five strikeouts and two walk in seven innings. Ty Van Meter picked up the save with a scoreless top of the ninth inning.
