LOCKPORT, Ill. – No. 17-ranked Central Missouri Jennies bowling had three student-athletes garner Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) postseason accolades, it was announced at the GLVC Women's Bowling Championships banquet Thursday evening, March 23.
Norma Alicia Romero Alarid and
Andrea Carolina Perez Perez were each named to the All-GLVC Second Team while
Cayla Bortz received the James R. Spadling Sportsmanship Award.
Alarid earned her first All-GLVC honor after averaging a 198.0 traditional average in 440 traditional frames and a 19.79 baker average in 619 baker frames. Alarid captured the MU Saints Classic Individual Title earlier this season after posting a 212 average during the event.
Perez secured her second-career All-GLVC recognition after posting a 194.6 traditional average in 439 traditional frames and a 20.68 baker average in 633 baker frames. She was an All-GLVC Honorable Mention honoree last season.
Bortz earned the James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award for a second consecutive season. The award is presented to student-athletes who distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior throughout the season. These individuals must be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting.
