WARRENSBURG, Mo. – University of Central Missouri Jennies Bowling turned in a perfect weekend to open its 2025-26 season, topping Central Methodist at the Central Cup on Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Union Bowling Center and sweeping Western Illinois on Sunday, Oct. 5, at Alley Cats.
The Jennies opened the weekend with two squads at the Central Cup, where both UCM Red and UCM Black delivered strong performances.Â
Junior
Julia Speich led UCM Red with a 736 pinfall and 184.0 average, while senior
Emma Hawley added a 169.5 average. UCM Black was paced by
Giana Nichols (173.0 average),
Sydney Lee (172.8), and
Haylee Bates (167.0) as the team combined for 1,355 in Baker play.
On Sunday, UCM continued its momentum with a 3-0 sweep of Western Illinois. The Jennies edged WIU 811-810 in the 5-Person Team Match before taking two decisive Baker Total pinfall wins, 870-754 and 961-811. Freshman
Carie Mascarello led UCM with a 202.0 average, followed by senior
Camryn Cramer (198.3) and Speich (185.7).
With consistent scoring across both days, the Jennies had multiple bowlers average over 160 pins, showing depth and balance to stay unbeaten on the weekend.
The Jennies return to the lanes Oct. 25-26 in Topeka, Kan., for the Jayhawk Collegiate Classic.
