  • Jennies softball hits the road for a pair of MIAA doubleheaders against the Emporia State Hornets (Friday, March 24) beginning at noon from Turnbull Field in Emporia, Kan. and the Washburn Ichabods (Saturday, March 25) beginning at 1:00 p.m. from Gahnstrom Field in Topeka, Kan.      
  • UCM heads into play on Friday afternoon after dropping both games of a doubleheader against the Augustana Vikings (S.D.) on Monday, March 20, from Jennies Field at the South Recreation Complex in Warrensburg.
  • Heading into play on Friday afternoon, the Jens feature six players hitting above .300 including Makenzie McAtee (.400 avg., 19 R, 2 2B, 4 HR, 18 RBI, .615 SLG%, .552 OB% and 1 SB), Abby Allnutt (.383 avg., 7 R, 2 2B, 1 3B, 13 RBI, .450 SLG%, .397 OB% and 1 SB), MaKenzie Cooper (.378 avg., 3 R, 3 2B, 1 HR, 10 RBI, .541 SLG% and .432 OB%), Abby Fischer (.354 avg., 24 R, 3 2B, 4 3B, 3 HR, 15 RBI, .598 SLG%, .419 OB% and 5 SB), Ashlyn Cook (.312 avg., 19 R, 8 2B, 1 3B, 4 HR, 23 RBI, .597 SLG%, .368 OB% and 6 SB) and Aubrie McRoberts (.305 avg., 10 R, 2 2B, 1 3B, 13 RBI, .373 SLG%, .388 OB% and 1 SB).

  • As a team, the Jennies are hitting .314 with an OPS of .838 and 40 stolen bases while limiting their opponents to a .262 average. UCM has a team ERA of 3.39 and a fielding percentage of .961.  
 
  
SERIES HISTORY
  • Emporia State: Heading into Friday's doubleheader, the Hornets have a 63-42 advantage all-time against UCM dating back to the 1976 season. Last season, Emporia State took both games of a doubleheader against the Jens with a pair of 5-2 wins (3/27/2022), from Jennies Field at the South Recreation Complex in Warrensburg.
  • Washburn: Ahead of Saturday's doubleheader in Topeka, Central Missouri leads the all-time series 52-48 dating back to the 1986 season. Last season, the Ichabods swept the doubleheader (3/26/2022) against the Jens winning 10-2 and 5-3 (12 inn.) in Warrensburg.  
  
 
UCM DURING the ANDERSON ERA
  • Susan Anderson enters her 17th season as head coach of the Jennies where she is the second winningest coach in program history with a record of 475-358 (.570).
  • Since her return to Warrensburg in 2006, Anderson has made 13 MIAA tournament appearances, five regional tournament appearances and one Elite Eight appearance.
  • The 2015 Regional Coach of the Year has been named MIAA Coach of the Year three times in her career (twice named as head coach of the Jens) while coaching 17 first team All-MIAA selections, eight All-Region selections, two All-Americans and one MIAA MVP.
