EDMOND, Okla. – Alex Gentry fired a final round 2-under par 70 leading the Central Missouri Mules golf team on the final day of the University of Central Oklahoma Broncho Invitational Tuesday, March 21, at Rose Creek in Edmond, Okla.
The Mules finished sixth in the final team standings, moving up four spots on the leaderboard, after posting a final round 9-over par 297 to finish with a three-round total of 56-over par 920 (310-313-297).
Gentry tallied six birdies in his final round for his 2-under par 70, giving him a three-round total of 5-over par 221 (76-75-70) as he finished tied for third on the leaderboard.
Robert Sager (74-84-74) and
Jack Hope (78-77-77) tied for 33rd at 16-over par 232,
Nick Fallin finished 66th at 24-over par 240 (82-82-76) and
Calvin Dillon tied for 73rd (86-79-79), rounding out the Central Missouri scoring.
Playing as individuals,
Cole Elling tied for 18th at 12-over par 228 (75-78-75) and
Brooks Baldwin tied for 62nd at 28-over par 244 (86-79-79).
Host Central Oklahoma captured the team title at the event with a three-round, 30-over par 894 while Northeastern State was second at 32-over par 896 and SWOSU was third at 47-over par 911, rounding out the top three teams.
UCO's Bennett Baldwin earned individual medalist honors after compiling a three-round, 3-over par 219 (69-76-74).
Central Missouri is scheduled to return to action March 27-28 at the NSIC Preview Invitational in Blue Springs, Mo., at Adams Pointe Golf Club.
