FIRST PITCH
  • Central Missouri hosts the William Jewell Cardinals on Tuesday, Feb. 21 with a doubleheader scheduled for 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. for their home opener at the South Recreation Complex in Warrensburg. 
  • The Jens went 3-1 this past weekend at the HSU/OBU Tournament with a doubleheader sweep of the Ouachita Baptist Tigers on Saturday, Feb. 18 (3-0 and 7-2), while splitting a doubleheader with the Henderson State Reddies on Sunday, Feb. 19 (4-0 loss and 8-0 win).
  • Redshirt sophomore Paige Petefish allowed five hits and struck out five in a complete game shutout win (3-0) over Ouachita Baptist while freshman Andi Siebeneck threw a complete game shutout in the 8-0 win over Henderson State allowing four hits and striking out four in five innings of work.
  
 
SERIES HISTORY
  • William Jewell: Heading into Tuesday afternoon, the Jennies hold an 18-9 advantage all-time against the Cardinals as the teams split a doubleheader last season playing at the Urban Youth Academy in downtown Kansas City, Mo with UCM winning game one 8-0 and William Jewell taking game two 8-7.

  • Susan Anderson enters her 17th season as head coach of the Jennies where she is the second winningest coach in program history with a record of 475-358 (.570).
  • Since her return to Warrensburg in 2006, Anderson has made 13 MIAA tournament appearances, five regional tournament appearances and one Elite Eight appearance.
  • The 2015 Regional Coach of the Year has been named MIAA Coach of the Year three times in her career (twice named as head coach of the Jens) while coaching 17 first team All-MIAA selections, eight All-Region selections, two All-Americans and one MIAA MVP.

Game one will be against the Minnesota-Crookston Golden Eagles (2:00 p.m.) and game two's opponent is the Wayne State Wildcats (4:00 p.m.) from the Lake Shawnee Softball Complex in Topeka, Kan.
