PITTSBURG, Kan. – Central Missouri Mules track and field's
Antonio Lay and
Parker Wormek set school records in the men's 100m dash and 110m hurdles, highlighting Mules and Jennies track and field at the Pittsburg State Tune-Up Saturday, April 23, inside Carnie Smith Stadium.
UCM track and field is scheduled to return to action April 28-30 at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa.
Sprints/Hurdles
- Antonio Lay ran a school record and personal-best time of 10:10, winning the men's 100m dash. His time is an NCAA-II provisional time and is the second-fastest in Division II this season.
- Parker Wormek finished third in the men's 110m hurdles, clocking a personal-best and provisional time of 13.77. The time is a school record and is second-fastest in NCAA-II this season.
- Cameron Hesker clocked a provisional and personal-best time of 10.50, finishing third in the men's 100m dash. His time is fifth best in school history.
- Jana Shawver finished runner-up in the women's 400m dash, running a personal-best 56.89. Her time is 10th-fastest all-time. Alex Foote' (58.37) and Kati Beane (58.79) finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
- Emily Sporleder and Hope Thiel went 1-2 in the women's 800m run. Sporleder clocked a time of 2:22.09 to win the even while Thiel finished runner-up at 2:22.20.
- Laia Gonzalez finished runner-up in the women's 400m hurdles, posting a time of 1:02.45.
Distance/Steeplechase
- Cynthia Togom ran 4:44.74 to win the women's 1,500m run. The Jennies claimed six of the top-10 spots in the event. Kenzie Bergman, Risper Mengich, Valorie Slack, Emma Bassford and Lilly Geelan and Sami Skibell went 4-5-6-7-8-10.
- Alex Kirk won the men's 1,500m run after posting a time of 4:04.05. Aaron Westhoff, Cooper Palmer, Zach Adams and Blake Nichols finished 3-4-5-8.
- Zach Adams placed first in the men's 5,000m run, clocking a time of 15:54.68, while Luke Engel was fifth at 17:19.92.
- In the women's 5,000m run, Camille Gudde finished runner-up at 20:41.32, and Rylee Adams placed third at 21:12.34.
- Makenzie Stucker won the women's 3,000m Steeplechase, clocking a personal-best time of 12:15.74.
- Paul Korir and Bryan O'Barr finished 1-2 in the men's 3,000m Steeplechase, posting times of 9:38.56 and 9:49.60.
Pole Vault
- The Mules finished 1-2-3-4 in the men's pole vault. Vincent Hobbie cleared a provisional and personal-best height of 5.38m (17-07.75) to win the event. Hobbie's is the top mark in NCAA Division II this season and ranks second-best in school history. Reagan Ulrich placed second with a provisional height of 5.28m (17-03.75), while Trent Davis was third with a personal-best 4.63m (15-02.25) and Josiah Crooks was fourth with a mark of 4.28m (14-00.50).
- Madi Wulfekotter cleared 4.06m (13-07.75) to win the women's pole vault. Cassie Jennings finished fourth with a mark of 3.79m (12-05.25).
Jumps
- Hannah VanBuskirk won the women's long jump with a mark of 5.66m (18-07.00). Camryn Holloman placed third at 5.61m (18-05.00) and Maggie Klover was fourth at 5.32m (17-05.50).
- Camryn Holloman placed second in the women's triple jump with a mark of 11.94m (39-02.75). Her mark is the ninth best in school history.
- Carter Bell placed second in the high jump with a clearance of 1.98m (06-06.00) while Cade Conley was third at 1.95m (06-04.75).
- Carter Bell finished third in the men's triple jump, posting a jump of 13.01m (42-08.25).
Relays
- The Jennies won both the women's 4x100m and 4x400m relays. In the 4x100m, the Jennies team of Camryn Holloman, Lenetta Lee, Grace Wormek and Lucy Steinmeyer ran 47.58 en route to the win, while Emily Sporleder, Kati Beane, Hope Thiel and Madi Wulfekotter ran 3:45.47 in the 4x400m for the victory. The 4x400m time is an NCAA-II provisional mark.
- The Mules finished first in the men's 4x400m and placed second in the 4x100m. Isaak Rasche, Derek Nugent, Cameron Hesker and Michael James posted a time of 3:17.74 in the 4x400 win while James, Antonio Lay, Hesker and Christopher Goodwin clocked a time of 41.14 in the runner-up performance in the 4x100.
