No. 16 Mules Golf Tied for Fourth After Opening Day of MIAA Championship

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. -- Sixteenth-ranked Central Missouri Mules golf is tied for fourth place after the opening day of action at the MIAA Men's Golf Championship Monday, April 18, at WinterStone Golf Course. 

Mules posted a 36-hole team score of 22-over par 598 (303-295), tying for fourth with Northeastern State through two rounds. 

No. 13 Rogers State owns a commanding lead over the field after 36 holes and sits at 4-over par 580 (292-288) while Missouri Southern is nine strokes back in second at 13-over par 589 (295-294). Central Oklahoma is in third at 21-over par 597 (295-302), rounding out the top-three. 

On the individual leaderboard, Matt Hoemann paces the Mules and is in third place with a 36-hole, even-par 144 (73-71) while Sam Parrott is tied for 11th at 4-over par 148 (74-74), and Thomas Henson is tied for 18th at 8-over par 152 (78-74), wrapping up the Central Missouri players in the top-20 through two rounds. 

Nick Westrich (79-76) and Alex Gentry (78-77) are tied for 30th at 11-over par 155, concluding the UCM scoring. 

Rogers State's Aidan Gavey (71-72) and Central Oklahoma's Caleb Kimmel (70-73) share the individual lead after 36 holes at 1-under par 143. 

The Mules are scheduled to tee-off in the third and final round of the championship Tuesday, April 20, at 10 a.m.
