Mules and Jennies Track and Field Excels at Outdoor Mule Relays

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Central Missouri Mules and Jennies track and field posted 10 first-place performances and numerous top-10 finishes at the annual Outdoor Mule Relays Friday, April 15, at Walton Stadium/Kennedy Field.

Throws
  • Ashlan Burton won the women's shot put with a provisional mark of 16.02m (52-06.75) on her second attempt. That mark ranks second-best in program history and is the second-best in NCAA-II this season. She also finished second in the discus at 47.18m (154-09.00). Her discus mark is eighth-best all-time and 10th in Division II in 2022.
  • Paige VanBlarcum captured the women's javelin title with a provisional mark of 44.31m (145-04.00). Her mark is third in school history and 14th-best in NCAA-II this season.
  • Rachael Molloy placed third in the women's hammer throw and sixth in the women's discus. In the hammer, Molloy launched a throw of 55.42m (181-10.00), which is fifth-best in program history and 15th in the nation this season, while tallying a mark of 42.45m (139-03.00) in the discus.
  • Michael Waldron finished runner-up in the men's javelin with a personal-best mark of 60.70m (199-02.00). His mark is fifth-best in school history. Trenton Flug was fourth in the javelin, posting a personal-best mark of 57.36m (188-02.00) – ninth-best all-time.
  • Addison Snowball placed second in the men's discus, launching a throw of 53.20m (174-06.00). His mark ranks ninth-best in school history. In addition, Snowball finished fifth in the shot put with a mark of 15.77m (51-09.00).
Pole Vault
  • Madi Wulfekotter placed first in the women's pole vault, clearing a height of 4.05m (13-03.50).
  • In the men's pole vault, the Mules finished 1-2-6, with Jack Hodge taking first, Reagan Ulrich second and Josiah Crooks sixth. Hodge cleared 5.15m (16-10.75), which is eighth-best in Division II this season and seventh-best in program history, while Ulrich cleared 5.00m (16-04.75), and Crooks cleared a personal-best 4.55m (14-11.00).
Jumps
  • Hannah VanBuskirk won the high jump with a mark of 1.67m (05-05.75) while Alissa Barkalow placed seventh at 1.52m (04-12.00).
  • Carter Bell placed fifth and Quinn Wilson 10th in the men's triple jump, with Bell posting a mark of 13.57m (44-06.25) and Wilson jumping 12.79m (41-11.50).
  • Camryn Holloman was runner-up in the women's triple jump with a jump of 11.66m (38-03.25). She also finished seventh in the long jump at 5.55m (18-02.50).
  • Cade Conley placed fourth in the men's high jump, clearing 1.94m (06-04.24).
Sprints/Hurdles
  • Antonio Lay won the men's 100m dash, clocking a time of 10.29. His time is second-fastest in school history.
  • Parker Wormek captured the men's 110m hurdles, placing first at 14.32, which is eight-fastest in school history. Jathan Deberry was second at 14.70 while Andrew Paster was third at 14.88.
  • Michael James had a runner-up performance in the men's 200m dash, posting a personal-best time of 21.83, while Christopher Goodwin posted a top-10 finish in the 200 as well, placing 10th at 22.24.
  • Lucy Steinmeyer placed third in the women's 200m dash and fifth in the 100m dash with times of 24.74 and 12.24. Lenetta Lee also finished in the top-10 in both events, placing seventh with times of 25.04 and 12.29.
  • Laia Gonzalez was runner-up in the women's 400m hurdles, clocking a time of 1:02.24. Liberty Brown was seventh in the event at 1:06.79.
  • Connor McKee placed fourth and Brayden Blackmon was sixth in the men's 400m hurdles at 55.29 and 56.28.
  • The Jennies went 5-6 in the women's 100m hurdles, with Hannah VanBuskirk placing fifth at 14.70 and Gonzalez sixth at 14.78.
  • Alex Foote' placed second in the women's 400m dash with a personal-best time of 57.23.
Steeplechase/Distance
  • Makenzie Stucker finished fifth in the women's 3,000m steeplechase with a personal-best time of 11:53.49.
  • In the men's 3,000m steeplechase, Paul Korir ran a personal-best 9:31.75 to finish third and Bryan O'Barr finished sixth with a personal-best 9:39.61.
  • The Jennies went 1-3-4 in the women's 10,000m run. Cynthia Togom won the event at 35:59.04 while Risper Mengich was third at 38:33.34, and Kenzie Bergman was fourth at 38:35.02. Togom's time is fourth-best in school history and a personal-best. Mengich and Bergman's times are also personal bests.
  • Mariah Elmore placed fifth in the women's 1,500m run with a time of 4:38.10 while Kati Beane was seventh at 4:41.77.
Relays UCM track and field is scheduled to return to action Saturday, April 23, at the Pittsburg State Tune Up in Pittsburg, Kan.
