CRETE, Neb. – Trey Miller won the heptathlon and
Kayla Goodwin captured the indoor pentathlon title to highlight UCM track and field at the Happy Holidays Multi-Events Meet Sunday, Dec. 4, on the Doane University campus.
The Mules and Jennies are scheduled to return to action Dec. 9-10 at the Pittsburg State Crimson & Gold Invitational in Pittsburg, Kan.
A redshirt senior from Clinton, Mo., Miller captured the heptathlon title after tallying an NCAA-II provisional mark of 5,457 points. That total leads all of Division II so far this season and is third-best in school history.

Clay Carbajal, competing in his first collegiate meet, tallied an NCAA-II provisional score of 4,770 points to finish in fourth place while fellow redshirt freshman
Vincent Wilson placed fifth with 4,611 points.
Former Mule and 2022 NCAA Division II Outdoor Long Jump National Champion and All-American
Christopher Goodwin competed unattached at the event, finishing runner up with 4,923 points.
For the Jennies, redshirt sophomore
Kayla Goodwin, who hails from Hamilton, Waikato, New Zealand, won the women's indoor pentathlon with a provisional and NCAA-II-best tally of 3,890 points.Her mark ranks fourth-best in program history.

Claire Luallen finished second with a provisional tally of 3,790 points while freshman
Cate Cooper compiled a score of 2,478, finishing sixth in her first collegiate meet.
