WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Redshirt sophomore
Brooke Littrell scored her 1,000th career point as the No. 23-ranked Central Missouri Jennies basketball team rolled to an 83-38 victory over the Newman Jets in a MIAA contest Saturday afternoon, Dec. 3, inside the Multipurpose Building.
The Jennies (5-0, 2-0 MIAA) are scheduled to host Lincoln (1-6, 0-3 MIAA) Sunday, Dec. 11, at 1 p.m. in Warrensburg.
Littrell, who wears number 30 on her jersey, became the 30th member of the 1,000-Point Club for UCM women's basketball after converting a three-pointer with 6:32 to go in the first quarter. She finished the game with a team-high 14 points on 6-for-9 shooting from the floor to up her career total to 1,012.
Lauren Frost (13 points) and
Kade Hackerott (11 points) also scored in double digits for the Jennies while
Ashley Tull pulled down a career-high 13 rebounds, including seven offensive boards. Frost and
Olivia Nelson each dished out a game-best six assists, respectively.
UCM shot a sizzling 54 percent from the field for the game, going 33-for-61, and were 52 percent from three-point range, converting 12 of 23 treys.
Central Missouri dominated the glass, outrebounding Newman (4-3, 1-1 MIAA), 43-23, and outscored the Jets off turnovers, 23-4.
The 38 points scored by Newman were the fewest allowed by the Jennies since limiting Evangel to 30 points in 2017-18.
Britney Ho tallied 16 points on 7-of-14 shooting, pacing the Jets.
