  • No. 11-ranked Central Missouri Jennies basketball (8-0, 5-0 MIAA) returns to action with a trio of home games inside the Multipurpose Building Thursday, Dec. 29, Saturday, Dec. 31, and Monday, Jan. 2. The Jennies will host William Jewell (3-11, 1-4 GLVC) in a non-conference showdown Thursday at 6 p.m. before welcoming MIAA foes Fort Hays State (11-3, 6-0 MIAA) and Nebraska Kearney (12-2, 5-1 MIAA) New Year's Eve Saturday at 1 p.m. and Monday at 5:30 p.m.
  • Central Missouri is coming off an 82-75 victory at Pittsburg State Dec. 17 in Pittsburg, Kan.
  • Through eight games, the Jennies are paced by redshirt sophomores Brooke Littrell (20.5 ppg., 9.4 rpg., .568 FG%, .385 3FG%, .824 FT%, 18 A, 11 Blk, 14 Stl), Olivia Nelson (13.4 ppg., 2.5 rpg., .524 FG%, .368 3FG%, .875 FT%, 38 A, 12 Stl) and Lauren Frost (9.6 ppg., 4.9 rpg., .405 FG%, 34 A, 10 Stl), and junior Ashley Tull (9.0 ppg., 7.0 rpg., .475 FG%, 14 Blk, 9 Stl).
  • As a team, UCM is averaging 80.9 points and 43 rebounds per game and shooting 49.3 percent from the field while holding its opponents to 58.9 points and 32.2 rebounds per game and a 35.7 percent field-goal percentage.

  • Brooke Littrell scored 31 points and Olivia Nelson added 25 points to lead No. 17-ranked Central Missouri Jennies basketball past Pittsburg State, 82-75, Saturday evening, Dec. 17, inside John Lance Arena.
  • Littrell went 11-of-18 from the floor, 2-for-4 from three-point range and 7-of-8 at the free-throw line for her season-high 31 points. She added a career-high tying 18 rebounds for her team-best third double-double of the season and dished out a team-high four assists.
  • Nelson compiled her season-best 25 points on a 10-of-16 performance from the field and a perfect 5-of-5 clip at the foul line.
  • The Jennies shot 46 percent from the field, converting 31 out of 68 shot attempts, and were 6-of-14 from downtown for 43 percent and 14 out of 17 at the free-throw line for 82 percent.
  • UCM was outrebounded in the game, 37-26, but scored 26 points off 16 Gorilla turnovers and dominated Pittsburg State in the paint, 48-28.
  • Pittsburg State led 73-72 with 3:22 to go in the fourth quarter before Central Missouri went on a 10-2 run over the final three minutes of the game for the 82-75 advantage and eventual victory. Nelson got the run started with a layup before Littrell hit back-to-back shots with a layup and jumper for a 78-75 lead with just over two minutes remaining on the clock. She iced the game down the stretch with a perfect 4-of-4 showing at the foul line.
Last Time Out vs. Fort Hays State
  • Central Missouri Jennies basketball outscored No. 9-ranked Fort Hays State 35-21 in the second half but came up short of completing a comeback, falling to the Tigers on Senior Day, 60-54, Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022, inside the Multipurpose Building.
  • Olivia Nelson paced Central Missouri with 22 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the floor and a 6-of-6 showing at the free-throw line and added five assists, while Brooke Littrell netted 14 points and Nija Collier tallied her team-best 16th double-double of the season with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
  • The Jennies shot 37 percent from the field for the game, making 19 of 52 attempts, but were just 22 percent from three-point range at 4-for-18. UCM went a perfect 12-of-12 at the free-throw line.
  • Central Missouri outrebounded Fort Hays State, 37-29, but committed 21 turnovers which led to 21 Tiger points. Both teams netted 30 points in the paint.
  • The Tigers were 42 percent from the floor at 23-for-55, and 47 percent from beyond-the-arc, going 7-of-15.

  • Brooke Littrell scored 31 points and pulled down 13 rebounds to lead the Central Missouri Jennies to a 65-59 victory over the Nebraska Kearney Lopers on a snowy Thursday, Feb. 17, 2022, at the Multipurpose Building.
  • Littrell went 9-for-15 from the field and an impressive 11-of-11 at the free-throw line for her game-high 31 points going along with her 13 boards for her 13th double-double of the season.
  • Nija Collier also reached double figures with 10 points and tallied a team-high three blocks, while Olivia Nelson dished out a team-high three assists.
  • The Jennies outscored the Lopers, 23-10, in the third quarter to turn a 28-27 halftime deficit into a 50-38 advantage and maintained a lead throughout the fourth quarter on their way to the victory.
  • Central Missouri shot 47 percent from the floor and went 15-of-16 at the free-throw line for 94 percent. UCM outrebounded Nebraska Kearney, 31-28, and outscored the Lopers in the paint, 34-32.
Individual Milestones
  • Brooke Littrell became the 30th student-athlete in UCM Women's Basketball history to score at least 1,000 career points after converting a three-pointer with 6:32 to go in the first quarter in the Jennies' win over Newman Dec. 3.
  • Olivia Nelson is 142 points shy of 1,000 for her Central Missouri career. Going into Thursday's game, she sits at 858 career points.

  • UCM is ranked No. 11 in the most recent WBCA Division II Coaches' Poll and fifth in the latest D2SIDA Division II Media Poll.
  • Central Missouri was picked third in the 2022-23 MIAA Preseason Media Poll and fifth in the Preseason Coaches' Poll. UCM received three first-place votes and 218 points in the media poll and 127 points in the coaches' poll.
