Tip-Off
- No. 23 Central Missouri Jennies basketball (3-0, 0-0 MIAA) is scheduled to tip-off its 2022-23 MIAA schedule with a 5:30 p.m. showdown against the Central Oklahoma Bronchos (3-1, 0-0 MIAA) Thursday, Dec. 1, inside the UCM Multipurpose Building before hosting the Newman Jets (3-2, 0-0 MIAA) for a conference tilt Saturday, Dec. 3, at 1 p.m. in Warrensburg.
- The Jennies are coming off a 102-49 victory over Evangel back on Nov. 16.
- Santa and Mrs. Claus will be special guests Thursday evening from halftime of the Jennies game through halftime of the Mules game. Fans will have a chance to donate a new unwrapped toy or make a monetary donation to Toys For Tots. Anyone who makes at least a $10 donation will receive a free value basket meal coupon from Culver's of Warrensburg.
- Gameday promotions will also tip-off starting Thursday evening. Gameday promotions will include on court promotions: Double or Nothing, Sneaker Shuffle, and the Keth Memorial Putting Challenge. Fans will also have the chance to try and guess the score to win a gift card from Heroes and/or Colton's.
- Through three games, the Jennies are paced by redshirt sophomores Brooke Littrell (19.0 ppg., 6.7 rpg., .561 FG%), Olivia Nelson (14.3 ppg., 3.0 rpg., .515 FG%, 12 A, 7 Stl) and Lauren Frost (11.7 ppg., 6.7 rpg., .455 FG%, 16 A, 6 Stl).
- As a team, UCM is averaging 82 points and 44.7 rebounds per game and shooting 51 percent from the field while holding its opponents to 54.7 points and 37.3 rebounds per game and a 33 percent field-goal percentage.
Last Time Out
- Four players scored in double figures as No. 19-ranked Central Missouri Jennies basketball crushed the Evangel Valor, 102-49, in the 2022-23 home opener Wednesday night, Nov. 16, inside the Multipurpose Building.
- The 102 points scored marked the most points in a single game for UCM since a 108-45 victory over Johnson & Wales on Nov. 26, 2016.
- Brooke Littrell posted her first double-double of the season with 16 points and 11 rebounds while Olivia Nelson also netted 16 points while compiling six assists, pacing the sizzling UCM offense. Littrell shot 62 percent from the floor, making eight out of 13 shots, and Nelson was 6-for-9 from the field and went 4-of-6 from three-point range for 67 percent.
- Kade Hackerott scored 13 points on 50 percent shooting, while Ashley Tull and Cierra Smith each posted 10 points, wrapping up the Jens in double figures. Tull blocked a game-best three shots, and Lauren Frost dished out a game and career-high nine assists and had four steals.
- Central Missouri shot a blistering 60 percent from the field for the contest, going 44-of-73, and were 9-of-23 from downtown for 39 percent. UCM outrebounded Evangel, 49-33, and scored 30 points off 23 Valor turnovers. The Jennies also dominated on the inside, outscoring Evangel in the paint, 64-22, and had seven blocks and 14 steals in the triumph.
Last Time Out vs. Central Oklahoma
- Brooke Littrell scored 28 points, leading Central Missouri Jennies basketball to a 79-66 victory over the Central Oklahoma Bronchos inside Hamilton Field House Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2022.
- A redshirt sophomore forward from Green City, Mo., Littrell went 8-for-14 from the floor, including a 2-of-5 showing from three-point range, and made 10 of 11 free-throws for her game-high 28 points and added eight rebounds. She has scored at least 20 points in 17 of the Jennies' 28 games this season, including three contests with 30 or more points.
- Nija Collier netted 20 points while compiling eight boards and a team-best five steals, and Olivia Nelson posted 18 points, rounding out the UCM leaders in the game.
- Central Missouri shot 51 percent (25-of-49) from the floor and were 23-of-24 at the free-throw line for 96 percent for the game.
Last Time Out vs. Newman
- Olivia Nelson, Brooke Littrell and Nija Collier each scored in double figures to help the Central Missouri Jennies basketball team turn back the Newman Jets, 55-40, on a snowy Saturday afternoon, Jan. 15, 2022, inside the Multipurpose Building.
- For the second consecutive game, Nelson paced Central Missouri in scoring with 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting, including a 2-for-3 performance at the three-point line, and a 2-of-3 showing at the free-throw line, and added three assists and a pair of steals.
- Littrell scored 12 points while tallying nine rebounds, three steals and two blocks, and Collier netted 10 points with 11 boards for her team-best 11th double-double of the season. She also had a game-best three blocks.
- The Jennies shot 38 percent from the floor, going 20-for-53, and were 8-of-29 from three-point range for 28 percent. Central Missouri had a commanding advantage on the glass for the game, outrebounding Newman, 41-27. UCM compiled 10 steals and five blocks, and outscored the Jets off turnovers, 19-15. Both teams had 20 points in the paint.
Individual Milestones
- Brooke Littrell enters Thursday's game just 27 points shy of 1,000 at 973. She is looking to become the 30th member of the Jennies basketball 1,000-point club.
Jennies in the Rankings
- Central Missouri was picked third in the 2022-23 MIAA Preseason Media Poll and fifth in the Preseason Coaches' Poll. UCM received three first-place votes and 218 points in the media poll and 127 points in the coaches' poll.
- UCM is ranked 23rd in the latest D2SIDA Media Poll.
Returning Scoring
- The Jennies return 74 percent of their scoring from last season's team. This includes 2020-21 stats from forward Graycen Holden, who sat out last season due to injury.
UCM Storylines
- UCM is coming off a 2021-22 campaign that saw it post a 19-11 overall record and finish fourth in the MIAA with a conference tally of 15-7.
- The Jennies welcome back four starters and five letterwinners for 2022-23, including 2021-22 All-American Brooke Litterell (G/F), 2021-22 Honorable Mention All-MIAA honoree Olivia Nelson (G) and 2020-21 All-MIAA Second Team honoree Graycen Holden (F).
