• Central Missouri Jennies basketball is scheduled to tip-off the second half of MIAA action this week, hosting No. 25 Missouri Western Wednesday, Jan. 26, at 5:30 p.m. at the Multipurpose Building before traveling to Maryville, Mo., for a 1:30 p.m. contest at Northwest Missouri State Saturday, Jan. 29.
• UCM has won six of its last seven games, including its last five contests.
Storylines
• The Jennies are 14-6 overall and 10-3 in the MIAA going into Wednesday's contest against Missouri Western. Central Missouri won a pair of MIAA road games in Oklahoma last week, winning at Northeastern State Jan. 20, 82-54, and Rogers State Jan. 22, 60-43.
• Through 20 games, the Jennies are led by redshirt freshman forward
Brooke Littrell (19.3 ppg., 9.4 RPG, 1.4 APG, .825 FT%), redshirt senior forward
Nija Collier (19.2 ppg., 11.3 RPG, 1.6 BPG, .539 FG%) and redshirt freshman guard

Nija Collier is second in career blocks at Central Missouri with 129. She is 91 blocks away from tying former UCM standout Kendra Banzet for most career blocks. Banzet had 220 from 1991-95.

Charley Bovaird drilled four three-pointers leading Central Missouri Jennies basketball to a 60-43 win over the Rogers State Hillcats Saturday afternoon at the Claremore Expo Center.
• Littrell tallied her 11th double-double of 2021-22 with a game-best 19 points and 13 rebounds while Collier notched her team and MIAA-best 12 double-double of the season with 17 points and 10 boards.
• Bovaird netted 13 points, including drilling four treys.
Olivia Nelson dished out a game-high seven assists and added a pair of steals, and Collier added a game-best three blocks.
• The Jennies shot only 36 percent from the floor (20-of-56) and 33 percent from three-point range (6-of-18), but owned the glass, outrebounding the Hillcats (7-12, 3-10 MIAA) 40-29, including 15 offensive boards, and outscored Rogers State in the paint, 24-16. UCM also had a 6-2 advantage in blocks.
• In addition, Central Missouri converted 14 free-throws on 21 attempts while Rogers State took just two foul shots in the contest, making one.
Jennies in the Rankings
• The defending NCAA Division II Central Region Champion Jennies were picked to finish second this year in the MIAA preseason coaches' poll. UCM received three first-place votes in the poll.
• Central Missouri was voted to tie for first with Fort Hays State in the MIAA preseason media poll. The Jennies tallied 118 points and five first-place votes in the poll.
