ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Sydney Lierz had a double-double with 10 kills and 12 digs to help lead the No. 18 University of Central Missouri Jennies volleyball team to a 3-0 sweep of the Texas A&M International Dust Devils Friday, Sept. 3, in the Seawolf Invitational at the Alaska Airlines Center. The set scores were 25-13, 25-19 and 25-15.
The Jennies (2-0) are scheduled to conclude play in the Seawolf Invitational with a pair of matches Saturday, Sept. 4, against Indianapolis (3 p.m. CT) and host Alaska Anchorage (10:30 p.m. CT).
Lierz, a redshirt sophomore from Overland Park, Kan., hit team-best .435 in the contest with 10 kills on 23 attempts and no errors, while
Ally Offerdahl added a match-high 33 assists and
Hannah Engelken tallied a match-high seven blocks (one block solo, six block assists).
Aubree Bell added a match-best three service aces.
Central Missouri outhit Texas A&M International (0-2) in the contest, .286 to .114, and had advantages in kills (42-31), blocks (8-4), assists (42-30) and digs (56-54).
Yaretzi Ortiz had a match-best 12 kills, pacing the Dust Devils.
