WARRENSBURG, Mo. (April 1, 2021) - Central Missouri resumes MIAA competition this weekend with games against Northeastern State and No. 21 Rogers State. Wear your pink to Friday's games in support of the Jennies Pink Out game.

Pink Out:
Friday's games against Northeastern State will be Central Missouri's Pink Out celebration. The Jennies will be wearing pink uniforms tops in support of
Michelle Schubert in her fight against breast cancer. Michelle is Central Missouri's Assistant Athletic Director of Development. She will throw out the first pitch against the RiverHawks and donations in support for Michelle will be collected.
Leading Off:
• Central Missouri suffered four consecutive losses last week against No. 3 Augustana and No. 25 Central Oklahoma.
• The Jennies return to Warrensburg this week to host two MIAA doubleheaders against Northeastern State and No. 12 Rogers State.
• The RiverHawks went 2-2 last week with a win and a loss to both Northwest Missouri and Missouri Western.
• Ranked No. 21 in Division II, Rogers State just upset No. 2 Texas A&M-Commerce earlier this week on Tuesday, March 30th. The Hillcats shutout the Lions 8-0 in game one and took game two 4-3.
• The Hillcats will travel to Jefferson City, Mo. on Friday, April 2nd, before traveling to Warrensburg to take on the Jennies.
• Central Missouri enters the weekend doubleheaders with an MIAA record of 4-2 while Rogers State is 5-3 in the league and Northeastern is 4-4.

Jennie Notes:
• Central Missouri's offense no longer leads the MIAA after it's 2-4 performance last week. The Jennies team batting average of .336 now ranks second in the league and still ranks in the top-25 in Division II. The Jennies .391 on-base percentage also ranks second in the league while their .572 slugging percentage remains at the top of the MIAA and continues to rank ninth in the nation.
• In 22 games the Jennies have seen 566 at-bats, recording 185 hits, 103 RBI, 51 walks, and 118 runs scored.
• Among the Jennies 185 hits, 71 are for extra bases. Central Missouri's 46 doubles and 25 home runs both rank second in the MIAA. The Jennies offense ranks sixth in Division II with 2.15 doubles per game and their 25 home runs rank 17th.
• Central Missouri's defense also ranks second in the league and 14th in the nation with a .978 fielding percentage.
• The Jennies pitching staff posts a team ERA of 2.73 to rank fifth in the league. For the sixth consecutive week the Jennies strikeout-to-walk ratio has ranked in Division II's top-10. Central Missouri currently ranks sixth with a strikeout-to-walk ration of 6.00.

Bailey Fowler currently leads the Jennies offense with a .424 batting average to rank fourth in the MIAA. Fowler also posts a team-high slugging percentage of .763 and leads UCM with 11 walks and 22 runs scored.
• Shortstop
Abbey Fischer posts the team-high 27 hits. The Jennies leadoff hitter is hitting .391 and slugging .725. She also leads UCM with 10 stolen bases.
• Central Missouri's designated play
Sydney Wellshear have driven in a team-high 17 runs. Wellshear led the Jennies last week with seven hits and nine RBI in 18 at-bats.
• Freshman
Sadie Parks leads the UCM pitching staff with a 1.96 ERA to rank sixth in the MIAA. In 39 innings she's allowed 31 hits, 11 earned runs and just three walks while striking out 38 batters. Parks also owns the team-best opposing batting average of .212 and ranks fourth in Division II with a 17.5 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
• Sophomore
Paige Petefish leads the Jennies with 45 innings pitched. Her team-high 56 strikeouts ranks fifth in the MIAA while her .226 opposing batting average ranks eighth.
• The Jennies are currently 9-1 while playing at home this season.
Scouting the Opposition:
NORTHEASTERN STATE RIVERHAWKS (16-10, 4-4 MIAA)
• The Riverhawks are hitting .307 to third in the MIAA but they lead the league with 28 games played, 225 hits, 148 RBI, and 91 walks.
• Northeastern State's hits and 159 runs scored both rank 19th in Division II while their 33 total home runs ranks sixth in the nation.
• The RiverHawks offense is led by outfielder Rhomie Bradshaw with a .421 batting average. Bradshaw owns the team-high hits (40), runs scored (28), and RBI (23). Bradshaw also leads the RiverHawks with nine doubles and shares the team-high seven home runs with Alyssia Crick.
• Bradshaw also leads NSU with 12 stolen bases.
• Northeastern State's pitching staff ranks eighth in the MIAA with a 3.56 team ERA. In 187 innings, the RiverHawks have allowed 125 hits, 63 walks, and 211 runs scored, 95 of which were earned.
• The RiverHawks pitching staff is led by senior Gail Young with a 2.97 ERA. Young leads the MIAA with 12 wins this season. She ranks second in Division II with 12 complete games this season and her 91 strikeouts rank second in the MIAA and 17th in the nation.
• Jenna Chassie posts the RiverHawks team-best opposing batting average at .235. She owns a 3.00 ERA through 51 innings.
• Friday's games are the RiverHawks first road MIAA games of the season. Overall, NSU posts a record of 5-5 when competing at neutral sites.

• Friday marks the 29th and 30th meetings between the Jennies and RiverHawks with UCM leading the all-time series 16-12.
• Central Missouri has one five of the last seven match ups. The last time UCM and RSU met was a MIAA doubleheader in Tahlequah,Okla. during the 2019 season. Northeastern State took game one 6-1 and the Jennies fought back to win game two 8-7 in 10 innings.

No. 21 ROGERS STATE HILLCATS (16-8, 5-3 MIAA)
• Previously ranked No. 12 in Division II, Rogers State dropped nine spots in the latest NFCA Coaches' Poll to No. 21.
• In their last outing, RSU upset No. 2 Texas A&M-Commerce winning game one 8-0 and game two 4-3.
• Through 24 games, the Hillcats have totaled 169 hits, 124 runs scored, 111 RBI, and 77 walks. They post a .287 team batting average which ranks eighth in the MIAA.
• Roger State's pitching staff ranks second in the league with a 2.06 ERA while the Hillcats defense leads the MIAA and ranks fourth in Division II with eight shutouts.
• Roger State's M'Kayla Hillman leads the MIAA with a 1.27 ERA and a .203 opposing batting average while Andrea Morales leads the league with 92 strikeouts.
• Catcher Abigail Taylor posts the Hillcats team-high batting average of .426, left fielder Makayla Bowman owns the team-high 24 hits, the designated player Elexis Watson leads the Hillcats with 23 RBI, and center fielder Tailee Reding leads RSU in runs scored with 21.

Jessica Sader is three hits away from her career 100th. She also recorded her career 100th putout last week against No. 25 Central Oklahoma.

Makenzie McAtee is 17 hits away from her career 100th.

Susan Anderson recorded her 600th career win in the Jennies 3-1 extra innings victory over Truman State in UCM's fourth game of the season. .

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (March 29, 2021) - Central Missouri softball suffered two losses Monday afternoon in a non-conference doubleheader against No. 3 Augustana.
GAME 1 - Central Missouri 1, No. 3 Augustana 4
How It Happened:
• The third-ranked Vikings were the first to score in game one against the Jennies.
Paige Petefish and the UCM defense allowed two runs off one hit and an error in the bottom of the second. Petefish recorded the final out of the inning with the bases loaded.
• Augustana held the Jennies with no hits and no runners on base through the first three innings.
• Left fielder
Ashlyn Cook recorded the Jennies first hit with two outs in the top of the fourth with a single through the right side. Augustana recorded its third out with Cook still on first base.
• The Vikings increased their lead to 4-0 in the bottom half of the inning with another solo hit and one UCM error.
Kyleigh Lay came in to relieve Petefish for the final out of the inning.
• Central Missouri's lone run came in the top of the fifth with a solo home run by third basemen
Jessica Sader.
• Both the Jennies and the Vikings recorded just one hit in their final at-bats.
• The Jennies left two runners on in the bottom of the sixth with shortstop
Abbey Fischer in scoring position.
• During UCM's final at-bat, Augustana recorded two ground outs and a pop-up to end the game with the 4-1 victory.
• Augustana was aggressive on the bases as the Jennies allowed a season-high of six opponent stolen bases.
• Central Missouri tied its season-low three hits in 24 at-bats. The Jennies defense held the No. 3 Vikings to just five hits which is their second-lowest single-game total this season.
GAME 2 - Central Missouri 1, No. 3 Augustana 6
How It Happened:
• Central Missouri doubled its hits and cut its errors in half in game two against the No. 3 Vikings.
• In the Jennies first at-bats they left two runners on base as the leadoff
Abbey Fischer and the designated played
Sydney Wellshear were both walked.
• Augustana recorded the first hit and run again in game two and took a 2-0 lead after the bottom of the first.
Kyleigh Lay and the UCM defense allowed two hits and two runs scored in the Vikings at-bats.
• Fischer recorded UCM's first hit in her second at-bat with a single through the left side. After stealing second, Fischer was then thrown out at home while attempting to score on
Bailey Fowler's double hit to right field. Augustana recorded the final out of the inning with three Jennies on base.
• Augustana added two more runs in the bottom of the third for the Vikings second 4-0 lead of the day.
• A single through the left side by Wellshear scored Fowler from third for the Jennies first run of the game in the top of the fifth inning.
• The Vikings quickly answered UCM's single run with two hits and one run scored in the bottom half of the inning.
• Augustana's defense recorded three consecutive outs in the top of the sixth then added another score in the bottom half to take a 6-1 lead.
• With two outs in the top of the seventh, a double by Fowler was followed with a single by
Ashlyn Cook giving UCM runners on first and third. Fowler and Cook were both hit home on a double down the left field line by Wellshear to make it a three-run game.
• The Jennies rally attempt was ended on a fly out to center field, leaving Wellshear in scoring position.
• Central Missouri out-hit the No. 3 Vikings 7-6 in game two. Three of the Jennies seven hits were doubles.
• Augustana continued to be aggressive on the bases finished 4-4 in stolen base attempts.
• The Jennies left a total of eight runners on base and stuck out a season-high nine times.
Season Notes:
• Central Missouri was able to squeeze 17 games in before the NCAA's cancelation of the remaining spring sport season in March 2020. The Jennies went 11-6 overall and 3-1 in MIAA competition.
• The Jennies were selected fourth in the 2021 MIAA Coaches Preseason Poll with 138 total points.
• A total of 15 Jennies return from last year's squad which includes eight position starters. Central Missouri graduated four seniors last spring, including center fielder
Lauryn Deer who led the Jennies with 24 runs scored and 12 stolen bases last season.
• Central Missouri welcomed six newcomers to the 2021 Jennies softball team.
• The 2021 season marks Head Coach
Susan Anderson's 15th season leading Jennies Softball. She posts a 415-305 record at UCM and a 596-477 overall record in her 23rd year as a head coach.
