• After a two-week holiday break, the Central Missouri Jennies basketball team is scheduled to return to action with a pair of MIAA home games at the UCM Multipurpose Building Dec. 31 and Jan. 3 against the Washburn Ichabods and Emporia State Lady Hornets. UCM is scheduled to take on Washburn at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31, before facing off against ESU Monday, Jan. 3, at 5:30 p.m.

Storylines
• The Jennies enter Friday with an overall record of 8-4 and an MIAA mark of 4-1 after winning at Pittsburg State Dec. 18, 70-61. Central Missouri has won five of its last six games, including its last three contests.
• Through 12 games, the Jennies are led by redshirt senior forward Nija Collier (22.8 ppg., 13 RPG, 1.8 BPG), redshirt freshman forward Brooke Littrell (17.8 ppg., 9.1 RPG) and redshirt freshman guard Olivia Nelson (14.4 PPG, 2.8 RPG, 4.9 APG, 1.6 SPG).
• Collier (first) and Littrell (fifth) and Nelson (10th) rank in the top-10 in scoring in the MIAA through 12 games.
• Collier leads the conference on the glass with her 13 rebounds per game while Littrell is seventh in rebounding at 9.1 rebounds per game.
• Collier leads the MIAA in field-goal percentage (100-173, .578) while Nelson is sixth (60-120, .500) and Littrell is eighth (76-160, .475).
• Collier leads all of NCAA Division II in rebounds through 12 games with 156. She is sixth in NCAA-II and first in the conference with 13 rebounds per game. In addition, she is third in NCAA-II with her 22.8 points per game.
• Collier's team-high 10 double-doubles leads the MIAA and is tied for first in NCAA-II, while Littrell's eight double-doubles is second in the conference and fifth in NCAA-II.
• Nelson is second in the MIAA in assists per game at 4.9, while Collier leads the league in blocks with 1.8 blocks per game.

Collier Tabbed MIAA Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week
•  Nija Collier was voted the MIAA Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week for her performance on the basketball court for the week of Dec. 12-19.
It's Collier's first Athlete of the Week honor for 2021-22 and the fourth of her Central Missouri career.
• A native of Roseville, Mich., Collier helped the Jennies to a perfect 3-0 week with wins over Northwest Missouri State (60-57), and at Missouri Southern (68-64) and Pittsburg State (70-61), averaging a team-high 25.7 points, 14 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game. On the week, Collier compiled an impressive 77 points, 42 rebounds, four assists and four blocks in 112:07 minutes played and shot 50 percent from the field, 40 percent from three-point ranges and 82 percent at the free-throw line.
•  She had double-doubles in all three games on the week, tallying 25 points, 12 rebounds vs. Northwest Missouri Dec. 13; 27 points, 12 rebounds at Missouri Southern Dec. 16; and 25 points, 18 rebounds at Pittsburg State Dec. 18, to raise her team-best season total to 10.

Jennies in the Rankings
• The defending NCAA Division II Central Region Champion Jennies were picked to finish second this year in the MIAA preseason coaches' poll. UCM received three first-place votes in the poll.
• Central Missouri was voted to tie for first with Fort Hays State in the MIAA preseason media poll. The Jennies tallied 118 points and five first-place votes in the poll.

Individual Milestones
 • Nija Collier is third in career blocks at UCM with 120 through 12 games this season. She needs six blocks to move up to second in program history.

Last Time Out for the Jennies
Brooke Littrell posted a career-high 26 points and Nija Collier tallied her 10th double-double of the season with 25 points and 18 rebounds to lead the Central Missouri Jennies basketball team to a 70-61 win at Pittsburg State Saturday, Dec. 18, inside John Lance Arena.
• Littrell netted her career-best 26 on 11-of-20 shooting from the floor, including a 1-of-2 showing from three-point range, and a 3-of-3 performance at the free-throw line while also snagging 12 rebounds for her eighth double-double of the season.
• Collier went 10-of-22 from the field and 5-of-5 at the foul line enroute to her 25 points while crashing the glass for her 18 rebounds, which included seven offensive boards and 11 defensive rebounds.
Olivia Nelson also reached double figures in the game for UCM, scoring 12 points, and added a team-best five assists.
• For the game, the Jennies shot 46 percent from the field (29-for-63), 15 percent from beyond-the-arc (2-of-13), and 83 percent at the free-throw line (10-of-12), and outrebounded Pittsburg State, 42-30, including 15-11 on the offensive glass. UCM also owned the paint, outscoring the Gorillas, 46-20, on the inside.
