KEARNEY, Neb. – Audrey Fisher tallied 18 kills on .311 hitting but it wasn't enough, as No. 15-ranked Nebraska Kearney defeated the second-ranked University of Central Missouri Jennies volleyball team, 3-1, Saturday, Nov. 6, inside the Health and Sports Center. The set scores were 14-25, 17-25, 31-29 and 21-25.
With the loss, the Jennies had their season-best 13-match winning streak snapped and fell to 23-3 overall and 16-2 in the MIAA. The Lopers improved to 22-5 on the season and 14-5 in conference play.
Fisher's 18 kills on 45 attempts and four errors for .311 hitting marked the 21st time in 2021 she has hit at least .300 for a match, including the last 14 consecutive contests. In addition, she had six block assists in the contest. Â
Hannah Engelken also reached double-digit kills for Central Missouri, posting 10 kills on 25 swings with five errors for .200 hitting, and compiled a match-high nine block assists, while
Ally Offerdahl added a team-best 39 assists to go along with 10 digs for her team-high 14th double-double of 2021.
Rylie Barnum had a career-high 40 digs, which ranks sixth in UCM single-match history,
Kersti Nix tallied a career-high six block assists, and
Hannah VanBuskirk tied her career-best with five block assists.
The Jennies were outhit by the Lopers in the match, .153 to .129.
Emerson Cyza had a match-high 20 kills, and Madison Squiers compiled a match-best 48 assists and four service aces, leading Nebraska Kearney.
The Jennies will look to bounce back when they travel to Edmond, Okla., for an MIAA match at Central Oklahoma Tuesday, Nov. 9, at 6 p.m.
