JOPLIN, Mo. – University of Central Missouri Mules cross country ran a 10k time of 2:36:01 and compiled 179 team points to finish in fifth place out of 31 teams at the 2021 NCAA Division II Central Region Championship meet Saturday, Nov. 6, at the Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course on the Missouri Southern State University campus.
Freshman
Bryan O'Barr finished 31st out of field of 207 competitors with a 10k personal best time of 31:02.0 to lead the Mules, while senior
Aaron Westhoff placed 32nd with a 10k personal best time of 31:03.9.
Alex Kirk finished 34th with a personal best 31:07.3, and
Blake Nichols posted a personal best 31:20.3 to place 38th, rounding out the top-40 finishers for UCM.
Cooper Palmer (44th with a personal best 31:27.6),
Zach Adams (120th with a personal best 33:02.4) and
Brady Maher (140th with a personal best 33:29.2), wrapped up the UCM competitors in the championship meet, respectively.
Augustana (S.D.) won the team championship with 43 points, while Missouri Southern was second with 81 points and Pittsburg State third with 92 points, rounding out the top-three.
Ryan Riddle of Missouri Southern took home the individual championship after posting a 10k 29:22.3.
