HAYS, Kan. – Audrey Fisher hit a blistering .667 and had 16 kills and
Rylie Barnum tallied a career-high 28 digs leading second-ranked University of Central Missouri Jennies volleyball to a 3-0 sweep at Fort Hays State Friday, Nov. 5, inside Gross Memorial Coliseum. The set scores were 25-15, 25-16 and 25-16.
The Jennies built their season-best winning streak to 13 matches and improved to 23-2 overall and 16-1 in the MIAA with the win while Fort Hays State fell to 12-15 on the season and 6-12 in conference play.
Fisher, a redshirt senior from Lenexa, Kan., posted her match-high 16 kills on 24 attempts with no errors for her season-best .667 attacking percentage. She has now hit at least .300 in 20 matches this season, including the last 13 contests.
Ally Offerdahl added a match-high 39 assists to go along 12 digs for her team-best 13th double-double of the season, and had two service aces, while
Hannah Engelken compiled 11 kills and four blocks.
Fisher and
Kersti Nix each had a trio of blocks in the contest, respectively.
The Jennies hit .325 for the match with 47 kills on 123 attempts and only seven errors, marking the sixth match this season UCM has hit at least .300.
Central Missouri limited Fort Hays State to just .070 hitting in the contest. It's the ninth time in 2021 the Jennies have kept an adversary under .100 hitting in a match.
Morgan Christansen had seven kills and four blocks, leading the Tigers, respectively.
UCM is scheduled to travel to Kearney, Neb., for an MIAA match at No. 15 Nebraska Kearney (21-5, 12-5 MIAA) Saturday, Nov. 6, at 3 p.m.
