AUSTIN, Texas – University of Central Missouri Mules football senior defensive back
Codie Bell was voted to the 2021 CoSIDA Academic All-District Super Region Three Football Team, which is selected by member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
It's Bell's first-career Academic All-District honor.
A native of Blue Springs, Mo., Bell led the Mules with 90 total tackles, including 64 solo and 26 assisted, during the 2021 season. He compiled four tackles-for-loss for 19 yards, two interceptions, six pass break-ups and a forced-fumble. His total tackles ranked fourth in the MIAA.
He was voted to the All-MIAA Second Team.
Bell is pursuing a master's degree in business administration and has a 3.33 grade-point average. He is a five-time MIAA Academic Honor Roll selection.
The CoSIDA Academic All-District Award is an academic and athletic-based award. Student-athletes must have a minimum 3.30 GPA to be nominated and should be a significant contributor to his team in competition.
As an All-District selection, Bell is now eligible for the CoSIDA Academic All-American award announced in December.
