WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Hannah Engelken posted a program-record 14 block assists to help the No. 2-ranked University of Central Missouri Jennies volleyball team take down third-ranked Northwest Missouri State in a five-set thriller, 3-2, Tuesday, Oct. 26, inside the UCM Multipurpose Building. The set scores were 25-22, 22-25, 25-20, 25-27 and 15-9.
The Jennies (20-2, 13-1 MIAA) increased their winning streak to 10 matches with the victory over the Bearcats (18-3, 11-2 MIAA).
A redshirt junior from Overland Park, Kan., Engelken broke former Jenny Chris Kalehuawehe's 1996 block assists record of 13 with her 14 block assists against the Bearcats. She also tied the single-match total blocks record at 14.
Engelken also posted double figure kills in the match, hitting .409 with 11 kills on 22 attempts with only two errors.

Kersti Nix and
Audrey Fisher also reached double figures in kills, with VanBuskirk tallying a season-best 13, Nix compiling 12 and Fisher adding 11.
Ally Offerdahl had a team-high 38 assists and tallied 10 digs for her team-high 12th double-double of the season, while
Sydney Lierz posted a career-high six service aces, and
Rylie Barnum added 23 digs.
The Jennies had a season-best 38 block assists for a season-high 19 total blocks in the match. The 38 block assists rank second in program single-match history.
Engelken was just one of eight Jennies to record a block assist, as Nix (6), Fisher (5), Lierz (4),
Olivia Olson (3), Offerdahl (3), VanBuskirk (2) and
Aubree Bell (1) all had block assists in the triumph.
UCM also outhit Northwest Missouri, .231 to .215, and posted a season-high 11 service aces in the win.
In the decisive fifth set, the Jennies held the Bearcats to .000 hitting while hitting a blistering .421 with eight kills on 19 attempts and no errors and made four blocks.
Payton Kirchhoefer had a match-high 23 kills and hit .283, Kelsey Havel tallied 22 kills and 23 digs, and Alyssa Rezac compiled a match-best 63 assists, leading the Bearcats.
Central Missouri is scheduled to host Missouri Southern (3-21, 0-14 MIAA) Thursday, Oct. 28, at 6 p.m. at the Multipurpose Building.
