JOPLIN, Mo. – Audrey Fisher had 10 kills and hit .318 leading No. 5-ranked University of Central Missouri Jennies volleyball to a 3-0 sweep at Missouri Southern Saturday, Oct. 2, inside Robert Ellis Gymnasium. The set scores were 25-17, 25-12 and 25-19.
The Jennies (12-2, 5-1 MIAA) are scheduled to host No. 10-ranked and MIAA preseason favorite Nebraska Kearney Friday, Oct. 8, at 6 p.m. at the UCM Multipurpose Building.
Fisher, a redshirt senior middle blocker from Lenexa, Kan., reached double figure kills for the eighth time this season with her 10 kills on 22 attempts, while setters
Ally Offerdahl (18) and
Chandler Vaughan (13) both reached double digits in assists, and outside hitter
Aubree Bell compiled three service aces, pacing UCM offensively.
Sydney Lierz (13 digs), Fisher (one block solo, two block assists) and
Hannah Engelken (three block assists) led Central Missouri defensively in the contest.
The Jennies outhit the Lions (3-11, 0-4 MIAA) in the match, .313 to .098, marking the sixth time in 2021 UCM has kept an opponent below .100 hitting.
Central Missouri posted advantages in all phases of the match Saturday evening, including kills (40-30), assists (38-27), service aces (6-4), digs (48-38) and blocks (6-4).
Armyni Perales tallied nine kills, leading Missouri Southern.
