Tip-Off
• Central Missouri continues their homestand with two more games this week against in-state rivals. It's the Jennies turn to host Missouri Western and Northwest Missouri after traveling north back in December.
Storylines
• Central Missouri has compiled a winning record against both opponents, going 72-26 against Northwest Missouri and 41-30 all time against the Griffons.Â
• UCM has won 11 straight games against the Bearcats and 16 of the last 17. The last Northwest Missouri win came in 2016.
• The Griffons were the only team standing in the Jennies way from an undefeated MIAA regular season last year. They beat the Jennies in St. Joseph in early 2020, but UCM returned the favor winning at their place this season in December.Â
Last Time Out
• The Jennies started their homestand with wins over Northeastern and Rogers State. Both wins came by 20 or more points as the Jennies beat up on two teams at the bottom of the MIAA.Â
Previously vs. Missouri Western/Northwest Missouri
• Central Missouri got going in the second quarter against the Griffons, outscoring them 23-10 and were on their way to a 67-48 win.
Nija Collier scored 18 and
Brooke Littrell added 15.
• UCM played the Bearcats slow-tempo style and held the Bearcats to 49 points in a 58-49 win in Maryville.
Olivia Nelson scored 14 points and
Graycen Holden went for 11 and six.
Jennies in the Rankings
• There won't be a WBCA poll for the 2020-21 season until later in January.Â
• In the second D2SIDA regular season poll, the Jennies are ranked 22nd, falling eight spots from last week.
• The defending MIAA Champion Jennies were picked to finish third this year by the league's coaches. They did receive three first-place votes.Â
Individual Milestones
•
Charley Bovaird needs just 12 points for 100.Â
•
Gigi McAtee's next game will be her 100th of her career.Â
•
Nija Collier needs 25 points to get to 600 and 24 rebounds to get to 400.
Fab 7
• UCM has seven freshmen for the 2020-21 season, their most since welcoming five in 2015. All seven have played and through six games have scored 65% of the team's total points. Four of the Jennies top-five scorers are freshman with
Graycen Holden having scored 162,
Brooke Littrell 140,
Olivia Nelson 119 and
Charley Bovaird 88.Â
Sloppy Play
• Turnovers have been a major part of the Jennies games of late. The good news is they've forced at least 15 turnovers in six of their last seven games. The bad news is the Jennies have coughed it up 15+ times themselves in six of their last seven as well.Â

Scouting the Opposition
Missouri Western Griffons (2-7, 2-7 MIAA)
• Missouri Western hasn't played since January 14 due to COVID-19 protocols. Prior to shutting down, the Griffons had lost six straight falling to 2-7. That includes four straight losses away from home.Â
• The Griffons started the year scoring in bunches, averaging 78.5 points through their first two games. The offense has since come to halt though as they've topped 70 just once since and failed to top 50 points in three of their last six games including scoring 34 in a loss their last time on the floor at UNK.Â
• Turnovers are a big problem for the Griffons. They lose the ball more than 17 times per game, second worst in the MIAA.Â
• The Griffons lead the MIAA in offensive rebounds. They bring down 12.4 offensive rebounds per game which is tied with UCM.Â
• While MWSU is only shooting 29% from three, they are holding opponents to just 27.3% from behind the arc, top-three in the MIAA.Â
Player to Watch
#1 Camille Evans (5-7, G Fr., Kansas City, Kan.) - 8 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 43.8%, 22 assists
Northwest Missouri Bearcats (4-7, 4-7 MIAA)
• Northwest Missouri stopped a four-game slide last week with a win over Newman. After starting out 2-3, the Bearcats stand at 4-7 midway through the season.
• On the road this season, the Bearcats have a 2-4 record with wins over Missouri Western and Rogers State.
• The Bearcats play a very slow, ball-control type of game with few possessions and low scoring affairs. NWMSU is next to last in the league scoring just 54.9 points per game, but they are also fourth allowing 60.7 points per game. Only three times have they allowed 70 or more points.
• Northwest Missouri is tops in the league when it comes to turnovers, coughing it up just 11.2 times per game. However they force just 11.1 and are last with 3.64 steals per game.
• The Bearcats will take a lot of three-pointers. They average 23 attempts from downtown per game.
• Three Bearcats are scoring in double-figures led by freshman Molly Hartnett. She's shooting 39% from the field and scoring 13.9 points per game. Jaelyn Haggard and Emma Atwood averaged 10+ as well.
