On This Day in UCM History: September 13

WARRENSBURG, Mo. (September 13, 2020) - With the suspension of fall sports, that means we are bringing back On This Day in UCM History: Fall Edition. We'll relive some UCM highlights from our fall sports. Today's On This Day in UCM History is presented by Western Missouri Medical Center, the official healthcare provider of UCM Athletics.

Year: 2011
Sport: Mules Golf

Mules Golf won the Pittsburg State Invitational after shooting a second-round 291. The Mules were in second place after round one, two strokes back of Washburn, but came back for the tournament win. Jared King tied for second thanks to his second round 67 and was a -2, 142. Joe Migdal, -1, 143, and Jason Vann, +3, 147 were also in the top-10. Evan Monheiser, playing as an individual took fifth place shooting an even-par 144.

1989: Jennies Volleyball defeated Kansas 3-1 (15-9, 14-16, 15-8 ,15-8)
1991: UCM Volleyball won three matches defeating Metro State and Lewis 3-1 and Nebraska-Omaha 3-2. The Jennies trailed UNO 2-1 before winning sets four and five. 
• 1997: Central Missouri Football started the year with a 53-13 win over Menlo College. The Mules rushed for 200 yards in the game. Paul Kaiser was 14-19 for 254 yards and two touchdowns. 
2000: On the road at Washburn, Jennies Volleyball was down 2-1 before taking sets four and five 15-8, 15-11 for the comeback win. 
2002: Jennies Soccer defeated Minnesota-State Mankato 4-1. 
2003: Jennies Volleyball had two sweeps over Henderson State and Alabama-Huntsville. All three sets against Alabama-Huntsville were decided by five points or less. Carrie Potthast totaled 35 kills on the day. 
2006: Hazel Cox scored twice in Jennies Soccer's 4-1 win at Emporia State. 
2008: Mules Football went on the road and defeated Truman State 31-28. Glenn Milner rushed for 128 yards and a score. He also added a 29-yard TD reception from Eric Czerniewski. LaVance Dotson's 37 yard interception return for a touchdown proved to be the game-winner. 
2008: The Jennies made a Melanie Hall goal in the 15th minute stand up in their 1-0 win at Washburn. Lauren Bamvakais got the shutout in net with five saves. 
2013: UCM had two sweeps including of No. 23 Ferris State. The Jens also beat McKendree 3-0. Taylor Goodness picked up 30 total kills and Annie Reilly had 34 digs. 
2014: Mules Cross Country won the season-opening Mule Run. Adam Tredway was the top collegiate finisher running 20:27.92 for the 4-mile race. Ian Frazier, Michael Gawlick and Spencer Hudson all finished in the top-10. For the Jennies, they placed third. Megan Glamann was the top collegiate finisher for the 4K running 14:37.64. 
2014: Ana Dilkes recorded a shutout as Jennies Soccer won 2-0 at Minot State. Baylie Edwards and Erin Robinson each scored a goal.
