WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The fifth-annual UCM Athletics and UCM Alumni Foundation Match Madness campaign was conducted all day on Wednesday, March 25, and ran through Tuesday, March 31.
This year's campaign raised a record $84,469 for the Mules and Jennies athletic programs, and featured 415 donors from 25 states.
"Thank you so much to all the Mules and Jennies supporters, alumni, family, and friends who gave to this year's Match Madness campaign," UCM Deputy Athletics Director for External Relations
Joe Thuente said. "This was the most successful event yet. Your support helps us continue to offer the premier student-athlete experience in all of Division II athletics. Thank you, too, to the UCM Alumni Foundation for their continued support of this initiative."
In Match Madness's five-year run, the campaign has raised over $311,000 and generated 3,300 gifts for Mules and Jennies athletic programs.
Donors who contributed over $150 during this year's campaign will receive a Mules and Jennies beanie cap.
"The hats are already in the mail, and fans should receive them soon, if they haven't already," Thuente said.
A special thank you message from the hosts of the live "Power Hour," wrestler Brock Smith and volleyball player Gillian Bachali, is below. Congratulations to volleyball and women's basketball, who won the "Power Hour Challenges," just edging out wrestling for the win.
