Mules Ranked 13th in College Football America Yearbook Preseason, Davidson on D2 Starting Lineup

WARRENSBURG, Mo. (July 8, 2020) - Central Missouri Mules Football was represented as a team and individually on the College Football America Preseason Yearbook. The Mules came in ranked 13th in the nation in their top-30 poll and tight end Zach Davidson made the Starting Lineup, the College Football America version of a preseason All-America team.

The Mules went 11-2 last year advancing to the Division II Playoffs. They won their 13th MIAA Championship in team history and the first since 2003. For the fourth time in school history, the Mules won 10 or more games in a single-season. They hosted the first round of the NCAA Playoffs, a 37-27 win over Indianapolis.

Davidson earned First Team All-American honors at tight end by five different postseason publications. He finished in the NCAA top-10 with 15 receiving touchdowns and 22.35 yards per catch. He totaled 40 catches for 894 yards, catching at least one touchdown pass in nine games. Davidson tied a Mules record with four touchdown receptions in a win at Missouri Southern and set a new single-game record for yards by a tight end with 225 in a win at Missouri Western.

The College Football America Yearbook is a yearly publication that features more than 930 college football teams from the United States and Canada in more than 250 striking, full-color pages. That includes every team from the NCAA (FBS, FCS, Division II and Division III), NAIA, NJCAA, CCCAA and U Sports (Canada). It also includes updates on club football, one-year postgraduate prep/sports academies and Mexican college football, along with dozens of action shots and stadium photos taken by the CFA staff. The print edition is available online via Amazon.com and other major retailers such as Barnes & Noble and Books-A-Million.
