WARRENSBURG, Mo. (May 22, 2020) - With the NCAA and MIAA cancellation of spring sports, UCM Athletics is digging through the archives to find the best of what happened on each day of the spring. We'll relive some of the best highlights of UCM's storied history in the months of March, April, May and into June. Today's look back through UCM history is presented by Country Kitchen.

Sport: Mules Track
Central Missouri Track and Field claimed two national champions. On the track, Vladimir Golias won the 3,000m steeplechase running 8:46.52. Golias won the event by seven seconds. It was the first of four straight national championships for Golias in the steeplechase.Â
In addition to Golias, Jeff Sander was the national champion in the decathlon. He scored 7429 points which was the first of back-to-back national championships in the decathlon for Sander.Â

• 1998: Jennies Track's Elaine Jarnagin earned an All-American award placing eighth in the heptathlon scoring 4460 points.Â
• 1998: In addition to the Mules National Champions, Jeff Kremer was an All-American in the shout put, throwing 54-4 to place seventh.Â
• 2003: Stephen Chambers ran 14.19 for 110m hurdles in to qualify for the national finals. His time was second in UCM history.Â
• 2008: Mules Track set a school record as the group of Dannon Abney, Damond Berry, Eric Moore and Chris Leverette ran 40.29 for the 4x100m relay at the national championships.Â
• 2009: Mules Golf finishes the NCAA Tournament in 14th place after a final round 306 and four-round score 1,222. Justin Yoder places in the top-10 tying for ninth place.Â
• 2009: As a freshman, Lindsay Lettow places fourth and earns an All-American award in the heptathlon scoring 5216 points. Brittanie Roldan set a new UCM record in the triple jump with a mark of 40-6.75 to place third.Â
• 2009: Mules Track's Jaban Moore scores an All-American award in the shot put throwing 56-0 to place eighth.Â
• 2010: Mules Baseball started the NCAA Tournament with a 3-0 win over Tampa. Brooks Martin threw a complete game shutout allowing four hits while striking out 10. Albert Selenders went 3-3 and drove in all three runs.Â
• 2011: UCM Baseball was crowned NCAA Regional Championships with a 7-0 win over Incarnate Word. Matt Curtis tossed a four-hit shutout with five strikeouts. All seven runs the Mules scored were unearned. Nick DeBiasse had three hits in the win.Â
• 2013: UCM Mules Golf took a 15th place finish at the NCAA Championship. Travis Mays led UCM, tying for 33rd place with a +12, 225.Â
• 2014: Heavin Warner wins her first of three straight national championships in the hammer throw with a mark of 207-0. Also in the throws, Mary Riley takes third in the javelin throwing 163.Â
• 2014: Mules Golf played in the quarterfinals of match play at the NCAA Championship, falling 4-1 to Malone. Alex Springer had the lone win for the Mules.Â
• 2015: Erika Kinsey doubled up on her indoor national championship to win the outdoor national championship in the high jump clearing 6-1.25.Â
• 2015: Three more Jennies earned All-American awards. Madison Smith and Zoe Sharplin placed third and sixth in the heptathlon while Brooke Swearingin came in sixth in the discus. Smith's score of 5290 is third all-time at UCM.Â
• 2015: Blake Seitz became an All-American with a sixth place finish in the decathlon scoring 7018 points.Â
• 2017: Mules Golf starts the NCAA Tournament shooting a 289, their best round of the tournament. Alex Springer cards a -2, 68.Â
• 2018: Sam Parrott improves his score and shoots a 72 in round two of the NCAA Championship. He's three-over par after two rounds with a 147.Â
