WICHITA, Kan. (March 6, 2020) - Central Missouri brought their power show on the road. In their first road game of the 2020 season, the Mules smacked six home runs and scored 17 runs on 17 hits for a 17-9 win over the Jets. The win is Central Missouri's 10th straight and moves them to 16-3 on the season.
How it Happened
• The Mules scored in seven of nine innings and multiple runs in five.
• Of the Mules 17 hits, eight were for extra bases with six home runs.
• Not the best day for the pitching staff. They allowed nine runs, eight earned and walked six with four strikeouts.
• The Mules scored in the first all with two outs.
Dusty Stroup doubled and scored on
Michael Sinks' RBI single.
• That lead didn't last though as Newman plated four in the bottom of the first. The first six batters all reached base as three scored. The Jets added a fourth in the inning on a passed ball.
• UCM hit their first of six home runs in the third. Two of them on back to back pitches.
Josh Schumacher hit the first and on the very next pitched
Erik Webb crushed one and the Mules were down just one, 4-3.
• An inning later,
Cole Taylor tied the game with a long ball.
Cole Christman gave the Mules a 5-4 lead with a single before Webb hit his second in as many innings, this one a three-run shot for an 8-4 Mules lead.
• UCM wasn't done putting up crooked numbers. In the fifth, Brennan vanBreusegen hit a two-run shot and Stroup drove in two with a double.
• Newman got a run in the home half of the fifth, but
Harrison Schnurbusch got it right back with a home run to lead off the sixth, the Mules sixth home run of the game.
• Central Missouri scored two in the eighth and two in the ninth, getting a pair of unearned runs, and RBI walk and an
Alex Madera RBI single.
• The Jets scored in each of the final three innings, but it wasn't enough to catch the Mules.

Erik Webb finished the day 2-5 with two home runs, four RBI and three runs scored.

Josh Schumacher reached base four times with a single, home run and two walks. He scored twice and drove in two.

Harrison Schnurbusch and Brennan vanBreusegen each had two hits with a home run.

Mason Green started and allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits.

Max Abramovich did most of the heavy lifting out of the bullpen. He went four and gave up four runs on three hits.Â

• Devin Beard homered and drove in two runs.
• Dalton Dinkel went 3-4 with three runs and two RBI.
• Kyle Koch had two hits and two RBI.
• Mitchell Austin picked up two hits and scored twice.

Erik Webb is now tied for the Mules all-time home run record with 44.
• 1-8 in the Mules lineup all had two hits and at least one RBI
• Nine different Mules collected a hit and RBI.
• Twice the Mules hit six home runs in a game in 2019. This is their first time in 2020.Â
• The 17 runs scored are a season-high, however so are the nine runs allowed.
