Jennies Winning Streak Comes to an End at Drury

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (April 3, 2019) - Central Missouri (19-11, 5-1 MIAA) took their six game winning streak on the road Wednesday afternoon for a nonconference doubleheader with Drury. The Jennies fell in both games, 11-3 in the first and 2-0 in the second.

Game One - Drury 11, Central Missouri 3 (5 inn.)
Play-by-Play

• The Jennies got on top in the first inning of game one. Ashlyn Cook singled and reached third as the ball was misplayed in the outfield. She then scampered home on a wild pitch two batters later.
• That lead didn't last too long though. Drury answered with four in their first turn at bat. The first three batters all reached and three RBI singles and an RBI groundout put the Panthers up 4-1.
• UCM got a run back in second when Taylor Nickel's sacrifice fly scored Taylor Dames.
• The big inning for the Panthers came in the third. They scored six runs on seven hits. Once again the first three batters reached base before a double scored two. The Panthers got two more run-scoring hits in the inning and led 10-2.
Jessica Sader briefly kept the game alive with a two-out RBI double in the fifth, but Drury ended it with a bases-loaded single in the bottom of the inning.

• Megan Homes was 3-4 with a double and an RBI.
• Devin Hale drove in a pair with two hits and two runs scored.
• Serenity Healy had three runs batted in.

Game Two - Drury 2, Central Missouri 0
Play-by-Play

• Quite the opposite type of game in the nightcap. Neither team had scored a run through the first three innings.
• In fact, the first hit came from Hailey Crabtree with a two-out single in the fourth.
• The Panthers first hit came leading off the fourth. Two batters later an RBI double put them ahead 1-0.
• The Jennies best chance to score came in the fifth. Taylor Dames led off with a single, stole second and reached third base with one out. Back-to-back walks loaded the bases, but a strikeout ended the inning leaving three runners on base.
• A two-out double in the sixth gave the Panthers an insurance run and the Jennies went down in order in the seventh.
