Mules Complete Sweep of Tigers

WARRENSBURG, Mo. (April 28, 2019) - Central Missouri Mules Baseball completed a three-game sweep of Fort Hays State Sunday afternoon with a 13-3 win. It was the second-straight seven-inning win for the Mules who move to 32-12 this season, 22-8 in the MIAA.

Play-by-Play
• The Mules scoring started with an infield single from Mason Janvrin. He stole second and third and came in to score as the throw to third sailed into left field.
• Luke Lucas got the first seven Tigers out, but ran into trouble in the third. Four straight singles tied the game at 1-1.
• The score stayed that way until the fourth when the Mules picked up four RBI hits to score four runs. Michael Sinks, Josh Schumacher, Donovan Ditto and Zak Whalin all had run-scoring hits in the frame.
• From that point on, the Mules never trailed. They put up another four-spot in the fifth, this time all in one big swing. UCM loaded the bases with nobody out and Cole Taylor sent a big fly deep to right for a grand slam and a 9-1 Mules lead.
• Fort Hays added a pair in the seventh on a ground out and an RBI double.
