WARRENSBURG, Mo. (April 27, 2019) - On a day celebrating the six Central Missouri Jennies Softball seniors, it was a freshman who played the hero.
Jessica Sader walked off game-two with an RBI single and a 3-2 win to earn a split with Lindenwood. The Jennies end the regular season at 33-19, 17-9 in the MIAA.
Game Two - Central Missouri 3, Lindenwood 2 - 8 innings
• Lindenwood scored a run in the first with the benefit of a hit. A leadoff walk came in to score on a sacrifice fly and it was 1-0 Lions.
• The score stayed that way until the fifth, though Jennies started
Shelby Clark needed to work out of a few jams. In the third and fourth innings she stranded two runners on base.
• The Lions added a run in the fifth on a two-out RBI single.
• The Jennies bats finally came to life in the sixth.
Ashlyn Cook's triple fell just inside the right field line. She scored two pitches later when
Hailey Crabtree sent a double to left.
• Crabtree came in to score the tying run when
Taylor Dames singled to right.
• Both teams had chances to score in the seventh. The Lions got the first two on, but Clark ended the innings with two strikeouts and a ground out.
• Markin started the home half of the inning reaching on fielding error and advanced to second when the ball went into left field. She was doubled off second though after a diving catch by the shortstop to eliminate the scoring threat.
• In extras, Lindenwood got a pair of runners in scoring position with two outs, but Clark struck out her sixth batter of the game to keep the game tied.
• The bottom of the inning started with a walk to
Lauryn Deer. She moved to second on
Ashlyn Cook's sacrifice bunt and got to third on Crabtree's fly ball to right.
• On a 1-0 pitch,
Jessica Sader's hard ground ball was unable to hauled in by the second baseman as Deer trotted home with the game-winning run.
Jennies Stat Leaders

Shelby Clark threw all eight innings allowing two runs on seven hits with six strikeouts.

Hailey Crabtree was 1-4 with a double, run scored and an RBI.

Ashlyn Cook tripled and scored a run.

• Stormee Galka was 2-4 with two runs scored. She also started in the circle and threw the first six innings allowing two runs on six hits with two strikeouts.
• Caitlyn Touchette had two hits in three at bats.
• Hanna Porter had a hit and drove in both Lion runs.
Game One - Lindenwood 11, Central Missouri 6
Play-by-Play
• Things didn't start well from the get-go. Lindenwood took advantage of some bloop hits and bad hops to put a four-spot on the board in the first.
• The Lions increased their lead to 6-0 in the second with a pair of RBI hits.
• That's when UCM started to come back. They scored an unearned run in the third, then got to within two, 6-4 in the fourth.

Kaitlyn Markin and
Brie Murray each had RBI hits in the fourth and Murray came in to score an unearned run on a ground ball.

Jessica Sader brought the lead to one in the fifth. Sader and
Hailey Crabtree started the inning with back-to-back doubles, but Sader was left at third as the tying run.
• Lindenwood got some insurance in the sixth. A three-run home run extended the lead to 9-6 and spelled doom for UCM.
• The Jennies added a run in the sixth and the Lions got two more in the seventh to bring us to the 11-6 final.

Lauryn Deer was 3-4 with a run and an RBI along with two stolen bases.

Kaitlyn Markin picked up two hits in four at bats with an RBI and two runs scored.

Jessica Sader reached base twice with a hit and a walk and drove in a run.

Jordan Johnson pitched 5.2 innings in relief allowing five runs on six hits with five strikeouts.
For the Lions
• Caitlyn Touchette went 2-4 with three RBI and a run scored.
• Hanna Porter and Austine Pauley each hit home runs.
• Stormee Galka was 2-4 at the plate and earned the save throwing the final 1-2 innings.

Lauryn Deer moved to fifth all-time for a single-season with 71 hits.
• The Jennies picked up another one-run win and improve to 10-5 in one run games and 7-1 in extra innings.
• UCM's 33 wins this season are their most since winning 49 in 2015.
• The eight innings pitched by
Shelby Clark are a new career-high.
• Lindenwood left 16 runners on base in the doubleheader, nine in game two. UCM stranded 13 base runners in the two games.

• It's the MIAA Tournament. The Jennies earned the number four seed with a 17-9 record. They'll take on these same Lions again in their first round matchup Wednesday, May 1 at 1:30 p.m. in Edmond, Okla.
