WARRENSBURG, Mo. (April 20, 2019) - Central Missouri was three outs away from a perfect 6-0 week. They'll have to settle for 5-1 after a split with Nebraska-Kearney. In two very different games, the Jennies took game one 14-4 in five innings, but dropped game two, 4-3 as the Lopers rallied in the final inning. The splits puts UCM at 29-17 and 13-7 in the MIAA.
Game One - Central Missouri 14, Nebraska-Kearney 4 - 5 innings
Play-by-Play
• Hard as it may be to believe, the Jennies trailed in this game in which they won by 10. Nebraska-Kearney scored three runs before the Jennies even took a turn at bat. An RBI ground out started the scoring. The Lopers added two more on a two-RBI double before
Jordan Johnson came in to pitch and put out the fire with a fly out and a strikeout.
• The Jennies answered by scoring six of their own in the bottom of the inning. It was a wild inning that saw six runs on five hits and four errors. The Lopers threw the ball all over the infield, committing two errors and letting two Jennies score. They tied the game on
Taylor Dames' RBI double to right center and took the lead when
Alexis Koop followed with an RBI single.

Taylor Nickel put the Jens up 6-3 with a two-RBI single up the middle before the inning came to an end.
• With out outs in the third, UCM made it 7-3 getting a single from
Lauryn Deer. She moved to second on a wild pitch and scored on
Ashlyn Cook's RBI double that fell inside the right field line.
• The Jennies decided to out-do themselves in the fourth. After scoring six first-inning runs, the Jens upped it to seven in the fourth.
Jessica Sader and
Taylor Dames started the inning with back-to-back doubles followed by Koops RBI single, giving UCM a 9-3 lead.Â
• On a 3-2 count,
Taylor Nickel singled to score
Kaitlyn Markin, giving the Jennies 10 runs. Down 0-2, Cook laced a double to left center as Nickel and Deer trotted home.Â
• Then just for good measure,
Hailey Crabtree launched a two-run home run to center to put a bow on the inning.
• The Lopers got a run in the fifth but it was too-little, too-late as the Jens claimed victory, 14-4 in five innings.Â
Jennies Stat Leaders
•
Lauryn Deer and
Alexis Koop each picked up three hits. Deer scored twice while Koop drove in a pair.

Ashlyn Cook reached base three times with two doubles and a walk. She drove in three runs.
•
Taylor Nickel also picked up three RBI going 2-3.
• Two was a lucky number for
Taylor Dames. She was 2-2 with two doubles, two runs and two RBI.

Hailey Crabtree finished 2-4 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored.
•
Jordan Johnson got the win tossing 4.2 innings in relief allowing one run on three hits with four strikeouts.
For the Lopers
• Carlee Liesch was 2-3 with a run scored.
• Sara Sempek went 2-3 and drove in two.
• Cheyenne Hamilton homered for her only hit of the game.
• All six first inning runs allowed by Erin Hallman were unearned.
Game Two - Nebraska-Kearney 4, Central Missouri 3
Play-by-Play
• Finally it was Central Missouri's turn to score first in a game. Second batter of the game,
Ashlyn Cook went deep to left center on the first pitch she saw to give the Jennies a 1-0 lead.
• An inning later it was
Taylor Dames' turn. She led off the second with a deep fly to left and UCM was on top 2-0 after two.
• Nebraska-Kearney though scored in the third with an RBI single and tied in the fourth with an RBI double.
• We stayed tied at two until the sixth. Cook led off with an infield single and moved over on Crabtree's ground ball.

Jessica Sader then doubled down the left field line to give the Jens the lead back, 3-2.
• The lead didn't last though as UNK scored twice in the seventh. They didn't need any big hits. Two bunts with runners on third brought in both runs.
• The Jennies went down in order in the home half of the inning, and fell 4-3.
Jennies Stat Leaders

Ashlyn Cook was 2-4 with a home run and scored twice.
•
Taylor Dames also lifted a long ball and picked up a pair of hits.
•
Jessica Sader and
Taylor Nickel had the other two hits for the Jennies.
•
Gentry Wishard started and lasted 6.1 innings. She gave up four runs on 11 hits with two walks and two strikeouts.
For the Lopers
• Sarah Handrahan got the win pitching six innings and allowing three runs on six hits with three strikeouts.
• Erin Hallman earned the save with a clean seventh.
• Cheyanne Hamilton was 4-4 with two RBI.
• Karlee Arnold picked up two hits and drove in a run.

• The Jennies 14 runs in game one are a season-high.
