WARRENSBURG, Mo. (April 16, 2019) - Central Missouri Jennies Softball played their final nonconference game of the season Tuesday afternoon in Warrensburg. The Jennies enjoyed the friendly confines and secured a sweep Truman State to move to 26-16 this season.
Game One - Central Missouri 3, Truman State 2 - 10 Innings
Play-by-Play
• Game one was a classic pitcher's dual. Twice the Bulldogs took the lead, but the Jennies were right there to answer a half inning later.
• TSU started the scoring in the third as a two-out, two-base error put a runner in scoring position. One batter later, a single to center brought in the game's first run.
• The Jens answered with a two-out run of their own.
Hailey Crabtree laced an opposite field double and with two-outs,
Jessica Sader went back up the middle to drive in Crabtree with the tying run.
• That was all the scoring until the sixth. The Bulldogs relied on small-ball to take the lead. The first two batters reached on bunt singles and stolen bases put them both in scoring positions with no outs.
• With one out and two still in scoring position, the Bulldogs dropped down their third bunt of the inning, a squeeze which scored the go-ahead run.
• No sweat for the Jennies as Sader led off the bottom of the inning with a single and moved to second on a bunt.
Alexis Koop's eight-pitch at bat ended with an RBI single to left, tying the score at two.
• It wouldn't be a Jennies game without some extra innings. This one went to 10, helped out by the Jennies defense.
• UCM ended the seventh with a double-play and the eighth with an outfield assist.
• In the 10, the Jennies started the inning with a walk and an infield single. Koop moved the runners up with a bunt putting two in scoring position with one out.
• With the infield in to cut-down the run,
Makenzie McAtee's hard hit ball to second took a big hop and fell into right field as Sader score the game-winning run.
