Jens Swept By No. 2 Bronchos

EDMOND, Okla. (April 11, 2019) - Central Missouri Jennies Softball (23-15. 9-5 MIAA) went to Edmond, Okla. for a battle with the nationally second-ranked Central Oklahoma Bronchos. While the Jennies had chances, and outhit the Bronchos in game one, UCO swept the Jennies 4-1 and 6-0.

Game 1 - No. 2 Central Oklahoma 4, Central Missouri 1
Play-by-Play

• Central Missouri got a run in the first. Lauryn Deer led things off with an infield single to short and scored on Jessica Sader's singed up the middle. The Jennies left a pair of runners on base in the inning and led 1-0 after one.
• The Bronchos tied things up in the second. A single started the inning, but was still on first with two outs. A wild pitch and two-out single tied the game at one. Like the Jennies in the first, it could've been much more as UCO left the bases loaded.
• Central Oklahoma took their first lead in the fourth. It was another two-out RBI hit that plated a pair. Two walks and a single loaded up the bases with two outs. On a 2-2 pitch, a single fell inside the chalk down the left field line and UCO took a 3-1 lead.
• The Jennies set themselves up nicely in the fifth with a one out single from Ashlyn Cook followed by a double to right from Hailey Crabtree. But a pop up and a fly out left those stranded in scoring position.
• An RBI single in the sixth gave the Bronchos a 4-1 edge. The Jennies brought the tying run to the plate with two outs in the seventh, but an infield pop up ended the game.
