UCM Multis Had A Strong Day Two In Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. ( March 22, 2019) - UCM Track and Field multi-eventers completed their first multi of the outdoor season at the Wichita State Herm Wilson Invitational this afternoon. The Mules had four compete in the decathlon, while the Jennies had two compete in the heptathlon. 

For the Mules, Trey Miller was the top-finisher placing first in his first decathlon as a Mule scoring 6792-points. Garrett Francis was the next up, finishing fifth with a total of 5967-points. Calaway Scholes (5475) and Trent Davis (5135) finished 10th and 11th for the Mules respectively. Scholes recorded a personal-best in the 1500m run, with a time of 5:24.08. 

For the Jens, Lauren Nelson led the way, finishing seventh with a new personal best of 3917-points in the heptathlon. Nelson also recorded a new PR in the javelin with a throw of 93-6. Kyra Webster finished the day with a total of 3561-points finishing 14th, respectively. 

Up Next:
Central Missouri Track and Field will send the distance runners to St. Louis March 29, for the WashU Distance Classic, and the rest of the team will spike up March 30th at the Emporia State Relays.
