CLAREMORE, Okla. (Feb. 21, 2019) - Central Missouri Jennies Softball played their first road games of 2019 and came away with two tough losses to future MIAA opponent Rogers State. The Jennies dropped game one 6-0 and game two 5-4 to fall to an even 4-4 on the season.
Game One - Rogers State 4, Central Missouri 0
Play-by-Play
• Hits were at a premium at the start of the game, with neither team getting on the board until the fourth inning.
• That changed when the Hillcats homered to start the fourth inning. That opened the doors to a six-run inning, the only inning in which either team scored. Following the home run,
Sarah Brown walked four batters to allow a run to score.
• After Brown was lifted for
Amolee Hawkins, the Hillcats knocked three singles in four at bats to drive in four more runs, taking a 6-0 lead.
• Central Missouri left two runners on base in both the sixth and seventh innings, but couldn't get a run across the plate.
Jennies Stat Leaders
• Six different Jennies collected a hit.

Taylor Nickel reached base three times with a hit and two walks.

Lauryn Deer doubled and
Hailey Crabtree laced a triple.

Sarah Brown got the start and allowed five runs on just two hits but walked seven while striking out two.

Amolee Hawkins finished the final 2.2 innings giving up a run on four hits.
For the Hillcats
• Andrea Morales pitched a shutout giving up six runs with two walks and three strikeouts.
• Sierra Skaggs went 2-3 with a home run and two RBI.
• Danielle Day collected two hits in four at bats with a run.
• Mikayla Waggnor was 1-4 with two runs batted in.
Game Two - Rogers State 5, Central Missouri 4
Play-by-Play
• It didn't take long for the Jennies to score in game two.
Ashlyn Cook doubled and
Taylor Nickel found tucked a single inside the right field line to drive her in and it was 1-0 Jennies after one.
• The Hillcats responded in the second with a one-out solo home run in the second from Rylee DeLozier.
• The Jennies jumped right back on top though getting back-to-back RBI hits from
Hailey Crabtree and
Jessica Sader, for a 3-1 lead.
• Once again the Hillcats quickly responded with two more runs in the bottom half of the frame. With two outs and the bases loaded, Abigail Taylor singled to center to drive in two and tie the game at 3-apiece.
• Rogers State took their first lead in the fifth. After DeLozier walked, it was Taylor again, this time clearing the fence in left field for a two-run blast and a 5-3 Hillcat lead.
• The Jennies got the tying runs on base in the seventh, but could only push one across as the Hillcats completed the sweep with a 5-4 win.
Jennies Stat Leaders
• Cook went 3-5 with two runs scored, a double and a stolen base.
• Nickel finished 3-3 with a double, run and an RBI.
• Crabtree reached base three times with a walk and two hits. She drove in two and scored a run.

Alexa Bradley started and pitched the first 4.1 innings allowing five runs on eight hits with four strikeouts.
• Gentry Wished threw the final 1.2 allowing no runs on two hits with two strikeouts.
For the Hillcats
• Taylor reached base all four times with a home runs and four RBI.
• DeLozier was 2-2 with two walks, two RBI and a run scored.
• Allie McFetridge finished 2-4.
• Bailey Killough started and pitched the first 4.1 innings allowing three runs on eight hits with three strikeouts.
• Tailee Reding gave up a run on two hits in 2.2 innings of work to earn the win out of the bullpen.
News and Notes
• Three of the Jennies four losses this season have come against Rogers State.
• Before their run in the first inning of game two, UCM had gone 14 straight scoreless innings against the Hillcats. All pitched by Andrea Morales.

Taylor Nickel was 4-4 in the two games.
• The Jennies walked 13 batters against nine strikeouts while drawing just four free passes themselves.

Hailey Crabtree has three triples in just eight games.
