WARRENSBURG, Mo. (March 27, 2018) - Central Missouri (21-7, 12-5 MIAA) dropped their second straight game Tuesday night, this time a 6-1 decision to Southwest Baptist.
Play-by-Play
• It was a good start for the Mules who retired the Bearcats 1-2-3 in the first, then got on the board two batters in with a solo home run from
Erik Webb.
• After that it was all Bearcats. They tied the game on an RBI ground out from Don Roethler.
• SBU took the lead for good in the third on a two-out RBI double from Hunter Hisky scoring Luke Winfrey.
• Both teams were putting up zeros after that. Neither team recorded a hit in the fourth, fifth or sixth innings.
• Southwest Baptist added three runs in the seventh, first with an RBI triple from Clint Jack. Tyler Mathys then singled home a pair of runs to make it 5-1.
• An inning later, a double-steal allowed the sixth and final run to score.
Mules Stat Leaders
• Webb collected two hits going 2-3 with a home run and the Mules only run of the game. He also reached base via a walk

Harrison Schnurbusch went 1-3 with the Mules only other hit.

Travis Able both drew a walk.

Luke Lucas lasted until the seventh and totaled 6.1 innings giving up five runs (three earned) on five hits with two walks and four strikeouts.

Bryce Kearns threw 1.1 scoreless innings in relief with a strikeout.
For the Bearcats
• Clint Jack was 2-3 with a triple, RBI and a run scored.
• Carl Schwettman III scored a pair of runs.
• Tyler Mathyss was 1-5 with two RBI.
• Following Wagner on the hill, Adam White pitched the final six innings and gave up just one hit and no runs while walking two and striking out five to earn the win.
News and Notes
• The three hits for UCM are their fewest this season.
• UCM has lost back-to-back games for just the second time this year and first since opening weekend in Houston.
• Lucas suffers his first loss dropping to 2-1.
• Webb's home run was his team-leading eighth of the season and 30th RBI.
• The win is the Bearcats first in their last nine meetings. UCM is now 102-13-1 all time against the Bearcats.
