HAYS, Kan. (March 25, 2018) - After rain postponed their doubleheader Saturday, the Jennies and Nebraska-Kearney finally met Sunday afternoon, only the game was moved to Hays, Kan. UCM dropped the opener 7-4, but rebounded with a 7-0 shutout win in game two. The Jennies stand at 17-15 and 6-2 in the MIAA.
Game Two: Central Missouri 7, Nebraska-Kearney 0
Play-by-Play
• The Jennies did damage in the first scoring three runs all with two outs. With
Taylor Dames on third,
Payton Summers drove in her first run of the game with a single to center. She came around to score on
Hailey Crabtree's triple down the right field line. Crabtree and
Emily King then executed a double steal allowing Crabtree to score the Jens third run.
• Staked to a 3-0 lead, Jennies started
Shelby Clark made quick work of the Lopers who could never get the offense going.
• UCM got another run in the second on Dames' RBI double to score
Lauryn Deer.
• After a quiet third and fourth innings, UCM added to their lead in the fifth as Crabtree scored again, this time on
Kaitlyn Markin's RBI single to left.

Payton Summers put the exclamation point on the day with a two-out two-RBI double to left center as the Jens took a 7-0 lead.
Jennies Stat Leaders
• Clark picked up her second complete game of the season. She tossed a shutout giving up just three hits. Given a 3-0 lead before even taking to the rubber, Clark pitched to contact and her defense took care of her. Clark didn't strike out a batter and walked only one.
• Big day for Summers who was 3-4 with a double, run and three RBI.

Hailey Crabtree was also 3-4 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Taylor Dames and
Emily King picked up two hits apices. Dames also scored twice and drove in a run. King reached base four times also walking twice and stealing a base.
For the Lopers
• All four Lopers pitchers gave up at least one run. Sarah Handrahan was the most effective giving up a run on three hits in two innings.
• Alexis Ray and Kaitlyn Johnson were each 1-3.
• Emma Osowki had the Lopers third hit, pinch hitting in the fifth.

Play-by-Play

Lauryn Deer did all the work herself to score the Jennies first run. She walked, stole second and third and scored on a passed ball to put UCM up 1-0.
• Unfortunately for the Jens, the bottom of the inning didn't go so well. The first nine batters all reached base and the Lopers scored six in the inning on four hits and took advantage of three Jennies errors.
• The Jennies inched their way closer, getting runs on a pair of RBI groundouts from
Allie Dishinger in the second and the fourth.

Brenlyn McCoy's RBI single in the sixth brought UCM within two, 6-4.
• Alexis Ray led off the bottom of the sixth for the Lopers with a home run and the Jennies fell in game one, 7-4.
Jennies Stat Leaders
•
Payton Summers had two hits going 2-4.
• Dishinger drove in two runs.
• Deer walked twice, scored a run and stole two bases.

Hailey Crabtree and McCoy were each 1-3. Crabtree scored a run while McCoy drove one in.
•
Alexa Bradley started and got just one out giving up six runs (two earned) on four hits.
•
Sarah Brown pitched effectively giving up one run on six hits with two strikeouts in 5.1 innings in relief.
For the Lopers
• Karlee Arnold and Cheyenne Hamilton were each 2-4 with a run scored.
• Calli Wiseman was 2-3 with a walk and scored a run.
• Sarah Handrahan pitched 3.2 inning and gave up a run on three hits.
• Meg Housholder started and threw three innings and gave up three runs on three hits with four strikeouts and three walks.
News and Notes
• The loss in game one snapped a seven game winning streak for UCM. The Jens are 12-3 in their last 15 games

Lauryn Deer now has 23 stolen bases on the season which moves her to 10th all-time in Jennies history in a single season.
• Summers was 5-8 on the day and now has a team-leading 21 RBI this season.
• Central Missouri is now 7-1 in games when
Shelby Clark starts in the circle. Her win improves her to 3-1.
• The Jennies have scored in the first inning in 15 of their 32 games this season.

• The Jennies return home for the start of a 12-game homestand. They'll begin with a doubleheader Tuesday, March 27 against Pittsburg State. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
