EMPORIA, Kan. (Feb. 17, 2018) - Central Missouri Jennies Softball struggled to score in the first two games of the Emporia State Softball Classic. UCM dropped their two games Saturday, putting them at 4-8 on the season.
Game One - Maryville 7, Central Missouri 2
Play-by-Play
• Maryville scored the first seven runs of the game. They got three in the very first inning, scoring a run on a wild pitch a sacrifice fly and an RBI single.
• They added one more in the third on an RBI double and them three more in the fifth on a pair of run-scoring hits.
• The Jennies scored two in the seventh on RBI singles by
Emily King and
Payton Summers.
Jennies Stat Leaders
• Central Missouri knocked five hits by five different players.
• Summers and King were 1-3 with a hit and an RBI each.

Lauryn Deer,
Allie Dishinger and
Taylor Dames had the Jennies other three hits.

Katie Giacone started and allowed four runs, two earned in two innings with two strikeouts.

Jordan Johnson pitched four innings in relief and gave up three runs on seven hits with three strikeouts.Â
For the Saints
• Alyssa Callans threw seven innings and gave up two runs, one earned on five hits with five strikeouts. She was also 1-1 at the plate with two walks and three runs scored.
• Jaclyn Pasakarnis was 3-4 wit a run scored and two RBI.
• Bri Livingstone also had two RBI and was 1-2.
Game Two - Henderson State 8, Central Missouri 0 - 6 innings
Play-by-Play
• The Reddies scored two runs in the first inning and never looked back. Kaitlyn Felder knocked a two-run home run to get the scoring started.
• HSU scored twice in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings.
• Kailey Reese and Nadia Ballarin had run-scoring hits in the fourth.
• Madie Green produced the final four runs with a two-run home run in the fifth and a two-run single in the sixth.

For the Reddies
• Kaitlyn Felder threw 4.2 innings and gave uup just two hits and two walks with a strikeout. She also went 1-2 at the plate with a home run and two RBI.
• Madie Green finished 2-4 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored.
• Nadia Ballarin was 2-3 with an RBI.Â

• These games were played in Emporia, Kan. after the Arkansas-Monticello 9-State Classic was canceled because of rain.Â

• The Jennies have scored two or fewer runs in seven of their 12 games this season.

• Central Missouri will play two more tomorrow in Emporia. First they'll take on Illinois-Springfield at 3 p.m. followed by William Jewell at 5 p.m. The Jens are a combined 16-4 all-time against these two opponents.
