• Central Missouri Mules Wrestling is back home for just their second dual this season and third time overall as they host MIAA opponent Fort Hays State on Friday, Feb. 2, in the Multipurpose Building. Mat action gets started at 7 p.m.
• The Mules will look to end an eight-dual losing streak when they host the Tigers. Their last dual win came back on Jan. 9, 24-20, against the Newman Jets.
• Since the start of the New Year, UCM has battled in 12 duals, with eight coming against top-25 opponents.
• UCM is coming off two back-to-back road matches against ranked opponents in No 6 McKendree and No. 20 Lindenwood. The Mules fell 47-0 to the Bearcats, before dropping a 40-4 contest to the Lions.
• UCM's lone individual win during their road trip came from 174 pounder
Allan Person. He scored a 13-3 major decision in the dual against Lindenwood.
• The Mules have just two competitions left in the regular season. This Saturday, Feb. 3, they are at the Missouri Valley College Open. The Mules will return home for their final dual of the regular season on Tuesday, Feb. 6, against Drury.

The Mules and Tigers will square off for the 55th time overall. Last season UCM fell on the road against Fort Hays State, 37-9.

Scouting the Competition
Fort Hays State
• The Tigers enter the Friday night dual against the Mules with a 4-4 record but are 0-2 in MIAA dual competition. They are currently receiving votes (6) in the latest NWCA Top-25 rankings.
• Fort Hays State was picked to finish third this season in the MIAA Preseason Coaches' Poll and totaled 16 points. They have been receiving votes in every regular season NWCA top-25 poll this year.
• The Tigers have one ranked wrestler in Brandon Ball at 141 pounds. The sophomore is ranked No. 8 in Division II wrestling with a 25-3 overall record and a 7-1 mark in duals. Against Division II opponents, he is 15-2.
• Fort Hays State has dual wins over Adams State, CSU-Pueblo, Chadron State, and Maryville. The Tigers two MIAA duals were against Central Oklahoma and Nebraska-Kearney.
• The Tigers competed in six tournaments during the regular season. They had eight champions total and a number or placewinners.
