Grapplers Host Their First MIAA Dual Sunday

WARRENSBURG, Mo. (Dec. 8, 2018) - Mules Wrestling steps into MIAA action this weekend at home. The Mules are set to tussle with the Lions of Lindenwood for the first MIAA dual meet of the season. 

Where: Warrensburg, Mo.

When: Sunday, December 9 - 5 p.m.

Last Time on the Mat
• Central Missouri last wrested at the Luther Hill Invite in Indianola, Iowa where four Mules were place winners. The top performer for UCM was Chase Miller who earned a third-place finish at 285 pounds. 
Daide Agnew came back through the consolation bracket to take a fifth-place finish at 141 pounds. Austin Morgan made it to the seventh-place match at 157 pounds and took eighth place.  Dominique Hampton came back through the consolation bracket at 184 pounds to get into the seventh-place match.

2018-19 Squad
• The Mules bring back a host of talent, including the who place winners at last year's regionals Person and Reser. The team also has senior 
Daide Agnew back.
• Juniors John FeeneyChase Miller and sophomores Dominique HamptonTyler Selemaea and Dakota 
Thevel all saw significant action last year. 
• The team also has eight freshmen this year, four true freshman and four redshirts.
• The team also has a slimmed down roster this year of 24.

Mules Stat Leaders
• No Mule wrestled more matches last year than 
Daide Agnew who went 17-22. He completed a huge milestone getting to 100 matches for his career after competing and placing fifth last weekend. 
• Allan Person and Dominique Hampton each won 16 matches last season. 
Person picked up a win two weeks ago at 174 pounds at the Grand View Open. Hampton placed seventh last week, for his first-place finish so far this season. 
• One of the most impressive Mules last week was Chase Miller who placed third at 285 pounds. Miller made the semifinals with a 50-second fall in round two and a 2-1 decision in the quarterfinals. He lost a 5-1 decision to Shawn Beeson of Graceland in the semifinals but rebounded with a 6-4 decision over Jordan Baumler of Upper Iowa in the third-place match.
